SOURCE: bypass doser malfunctions

Happens when the preground coffee is not ground fine enough, you may have to put the pre ground coffee in a manual coffee grinder to make it finer. The machine is not really designed to brew regular coffee grounds.

SOURCE: Saeco Coffee maker container is leaking

OK, I finally called Saeco. There are about four rubber rings that you need to get. The one for the water resevoir is a big thick black ring and once you get it and look at the new and the old, you can see why it is leaking. Anyway, fixes it no problem.

The overflow in the drip tray? There are two rings in the back of the machine that will fix that problem. Problem? I got them, but haven't put it on there because it very hard to get in there.

Last one, the ring around the coffee puck maker (what do you call that part) It's the piston that catches the coffe and raises up to tamp it down, then holds it as the water goes through. ANyway, big ring around that. If you aren't getting a nice crema on top, that ring will cure that.

I saw get all four, replace them all at once and then descale the coffee maker and be done with it. You'll be working like new in a few hours or maintenance. For most of us, it's been like 3 years anyway, time to do it.

Lastly, when you call Saeco, (Pronounced I found our SA Yey Co) ask for the directions for cleaning out the grinder. Even has notes on how to get it back together with all the adjustments in the right spots.

The rep on the phone says she likes this model better than most fo the new ones.

SOURCE: Saeco Italia coffee too weak - grindes too coarse

Remove beans from chamber, then remove the 2-3 screws in the chamber, then lift hopper slightly and turn adjustment knob towards the middle number, or halfway between fine and coarse. Then lower hopper make sure the gears line up together, set screws add beans and adjust finer.

SOURCE: leeks coffee into grounds container

HI
You have a stripped thumbscrew. Check the top left side of the brew unit. The thumbscrew is the little rod that sticks out of the top of the center part of the brew head. If there is water in the center cavity that's your problem. If you push down on the rod and check your brerw head screen on the other end it is probably pushed out a little. Pry the screen out, and you should see a barrel nut in the middle of the screw stem. Pull the thumbscrew out from the other end.
The plastic rod that has 2 small hooks on the end and has ribs around the opposite end is your thumbscrew. There is suppose to be a small round nut that is molded into the position between the legs with the hooks. If you use the key to tighten the thumbscrew you will pull the nut out and then the thumbscrew will pop out of the brew head. Check the stem of the filter screen. If you have an item about that is about 3/8 of an inch long and has a grove in the middle and small bumps on it, that’s the nut. You need a new thumbscrew. Remove the old nut on the stem before putting it in the new thumbscrew. Remember it’s a thumbscrew, so it only needs to be finger tight. The key is for removing only.

Talea ring the grinder will not stop gringing

The Talea model is with a Ceramic grinder system. This can happen when the grinder outlet is clogged with coffee grounds. Fresh beans cannot enter the grinder as the outlet is clogged. Remember, the grinder in any machine is a grinder. It does not shovel the coffee grounds out and clean the outlet when it is clogged.
1- Check if the grind setting is too fine (powder like). If so change the setting to coarse. Fully automatic machines do not need fine grind. Keep the grind fineness like the table slat grain.
2- Check if the beans are dark roast and oily. Oily beans are a slow poison for any fully automatic machine. Change the beans to Non oily medium roast type.

The coarse grounds is definitely the problem. make sure your machines setting are near 5-8 depending on the beans you use.

You need to make 5 cups of coffee before you see the new grind size. Do not change the grind too often or you will not see what you are looking for.

If the coffee is still too coarse you may need to replace the grinder burrs. http://www.cerinicoffee.com/grinder-burrs-saeco-gaggia-asp.html

or you should take it to a service center.

Brand new machine and the pressure gauge doesn't appear to be working, I've made about 10 coffees over the weekend and experimented with the tamping etc. And the gauge has not moved once? Am I...

It could be a faulty machine, what is your grind setting? Make sure your using the dual wall single cup as a test. Set the grind to around 13 and grind your own beans, don't use supermarket bought beans or preground coffee. Both are garbage.
Also if your using the dual wall basket, make sure that you leave the dial guage in the dual wall setting. Then tamp the coffee so it sits roughly 3-5mm below the rim, this is what I have found is best for this unit.
Then secure group head in to unit, press single cup and you should hopefully get a pressure reading, if it isn't going up you are under extracting and your grind is prob to coarse (correct me if I'm wrong), I've found 13 is not to coarse not to fine. Shouldn't feel like fine sand, when coarse but not powdery.
If the gauge does not move in to the grey area your unit is most likely faulty.

The bean does not grind anymore it just makes the noice but does not grind. My mum accidentally poured a little water in that compartment. What shall I do?

Unplug the machine.
Remove all the sticky beans and grounds from the grinder (use a vacuum and a small brush) you might need a flashlight.

AFTER YOU ARE DONE.
Plug the machine and turn it on
Pay attention to the number were the grinder is set at(you need to set it back at that number after you are done with the next step)
turn the graduated knob when the coffee grinder is working; TO THE COARSER setting.

After grounds come out OK. set it back to normal.
If the ground coffee is too fine, turn the knob toward higher
settings; if the ground coffee is too coarse, turn the knob toward lower settings.

I hope this helps.

My coffee is weak. i have played with the grinder, placing it at different no. on the outside plus i have played with adjustment on the interior.

Hi
Check the grinds. If they are coarse you have a separated grinder. It usually means it needs to be replaced I have seen them on ebay, but if you can't find them, I have some. If they are not coarse, you have to make 3 coffees before the grind will take affect. After you change the grind you have to make 3 drinks before you will see a change. If you don't have a puck in your dredge drawer, you don't have enough coffee going into the brew unit. Push the lever behind the door in the center top back to the +, then forward 1 click, and try that. There should be a full puck going into the dredge drawer that has the consistency of coarse sugar. If it very coarse its the grinder.

Saeco Incantu delux grinds bean, starts to press the ground coffee then releases unbrewed ground coffee into dredge drawer without the water cycle turning on. I have cleaned out the brew unit re-lubed...

Hi
What does you grind look like?
Is it very coarse or does it look like grandulated sugar? If its very coarse like French press, your grinder has seperated and needs to be replaced.

Saeco magic comfort coffee machine grinder

Hi,

Make sure you not get any water in the grinder, if you got water in the grinder then you have to clean it.

You can try to set grinding to coarse and try to make 3 cup of coffee.
