Question about Electrolux EW23BC71IS Energy Star Counter Depth 22.6 Cu. Ft. French Do

1 Answer

Electrolux freezer basket

Middle freezer basket keeps coming off track when we try and push it back in. By default it magnetically sticks to the freezer door when pulling the door out. There seems to be an issue with the guide rail on the right side? is this a common issue anyone else has run into? thx

Hi there!

You should be able to identify various parts Here

It sounds like a problem with defrost timer control, but may also be the control board for the thermostats.

Just click the link , put in Electrolux, fridges, then electronic parts in the box at the bottom.

(shop around before you buy, and try removing/ testing items before purchase)

i had the same thing with my Refrig/Freeze and the repair guy said that most times its a leak around the door seal. Take a piece of paper and put it between the door seal and where it touchs the freezer close the door see if the paper pulls out easly, if it does then you have and air leak, repeat it all the way around the door. Check the bottom side carefully. One other thing check the tempeture in the freezer it only needs to be between 0 and -5. Too cold will also cause air to be pulled through the seals.

SOURCE: electrolux side by side freezer baskets remove how

Hello augustus_ eli - To remove the top and/or bottom basket, pull the basket(s) out until it stops. Then, lift up on the handle and pull out at the same time to completely remove the basket. To reinstall top and/or bottom basket, align the basket with the rails and push in. The middle basket is held in place by four retainer clips; two on each rail. Before removing the basket, note the location of each retainer clip. To remove the baskets from the retainer clips grasps the handle firmly and pull up. The basket should release from the retainer clips. To reinstalled the basket place the basket on top of the retainer clips and press down.

The bottom freezer drawer is not closing so the freezer is getting an ice build up

It sounds like you either have a drawer that's off track, or something has fallen behind the drawer, not allowing the drawer to close. Empty the freezer, and pull the drawer all the way out. Look behind the basket of the drawer and see if some thing has fallen behind it. If nothing is behind the drawer, then the drawer must be off track. At this point, you'll need to pull the drawer out to the most extended point. Now push the drawer back in about 3-4 inches an **** it open fairly hard. Not hard enough to move the whole refrigerator. Just enough to put the drawer back on track. Hope this helps. : )

No, very rarely internal shelves can be moved between generations. Unfortunately all you can do is an improvisation to keep them in place: you need to make the channel walls higher by gluing some small pieces of thick plastic on them using a powerful adhesive - not superglue, something like Loctite Sumo Glue.

Open the freezer door. Pull the ice bin OUT and then push it back IN until it locks in place. They will "jump the track" at times, causing crushed ice regardless of the settings. Look under the ice bin. You will see a metal rod it goes inside a yoke in the back of the freezer. Make sure it is inside, not under or over the yoke.

    Clogged Hose

Hi, this sounds like you have something stuck quite firmly in the hose!! If you use a good sturdy stick then you should be able to move the object without any damage to the hose. Check along the outside of the hose first just incase something has pushed its way out of the hose wall.

Zanussi Electrolux frost free fridge/freezer - freezer defrosting

My husband left the freezer door open a couple of months ago, causing ice to form. The loud rattling noise was the fan hitting the ice. The reason why the temperature started to rise but the noise stopped was because the fan had got stuck in a block of ice and was no longer working. Simple solution - defrost the freezer for 24 hours. Touch wood, it is all working fine now!

Clogged Freezer Drain it is. To clarify, pull out the fridge, remove the smaller square metal panel (about a third of the way up the fridge in the middle) with 4 screws. Behind it is a black drain pipe system. Remove two screws and remove drain pipe (takes some pulling to detach the seal). There is a silver 3" long pipe that goes into the freezer itself. Remove this, clear it and replace. Take the black pipe and pluming, remove pluming block from the black pipe and blow through it. Run warm water through it (most likely where the clog is) then before reconnecting it to the black pipe, blow through the black pipe to make sure there is no clog there. Reattach pluming, screw it back in, replace the panel and there you have it!
