1998 ford explorer rear window removal

Hi there:

  1. Remove the door trim panel and speaker if applicable.
  2. Remove the screw from the division bar. Remove the inside belt weatherstrip(s) if equipped.
  3. Remove the 2 vent window attaching screws from the front edge of the door.
  4. Lower the glass and pull the glass out of the run retainer near the vent window division bar, just enough to allow the removal of the vent window, if equipped.
  5. Push the front edge of the glass downward and remove the rear glass run retainer from the door.
  6. If equipped with retaining rivets, remove them carefully. Otherwise, remove the glass from the channel using Glass and Channel Removal Tool 2900. Remove the glass through the belt opening if possible.

To install:
  1. Install the glass spacer and retainer into the retention holes.
  2. Install the glass into the door, position on the bracket and align the retaining holes.
  3. Carefully install the retaining rivets or equivalent.
  4. Raise the glass to the full closed position.
  5. Install the rear glass run retainer and glass run. Install the inside belt weatherstrip(s).
  6. Check for smooth operation before installing the trim panel.

Hope this helps.

How to Replace the Right and Left Run channels on a 2004 Toyota Corolla S?

I suspect you mean the glass runs that get all deformed at the top rear corner and front corner by the mirror?

Open the door and lower the glass all the way.

Grab the rubber at the top center of the door frame and dig it out of the channel with your finger nails.
Once you have a bite, pull it off to the corners, then at the front and rear corners pull upwards to pull the rest of the run out of the rail.

To install, it helps to lubricate the back edge of the new glass runs with silicon spray or similar.
Place it into the rail and grabbing a fistful near the top push doward with firm force to slide the rubber down into the rail. It will get more difficult once you reach the glass.
If you get to a point where you can not get it to down any further yet you have further to go, run the window up partially, then while pushing down on the down window switch, force the rubber to slide with the window. The glass will help carry the run the rest of the way down.
When you get the front and rear to the correct heights so the corner line up, peel the tape off the front corner by the mirror and stick the run full into the rail at the mirror and the rest of the way over the door to the rear corner If it is a little short you can tug on it to get a little slack.

Door warped.......

Hi, These cabinets have 2 sheets of tempered glass with an airspace between and are fully reversible I would doubt they are warped. My best guess is that the cabinet is not square. If you have a level, check it across the top of the cabinet not the door. Also check it diagonally both directions. The cabinet has feet which are adjustable unless you have a low spot on the floor for which you may have to use a shim. Remember that it needs to lean slightly to the rear for the door to close on its own if partially open. Good Luck to you! Let me know how this works for you.
