You probably have a broken belt on the cd tray so it's neither open or closed, if the laser's ok thats why it wont play

SOURCE: CD player won't play random

the most likely problem is a weak or failing optical pickup. try a cleaning disc first there may be dust on the lens. do not use any liquid to clean the lens. remember this is an optical system if it can't focus properly or "see well" it can't read.

SOURCE: The cds won't play. Once you press play, the cd

Sounds like you have a powre supply issue. It could also be a display issue but if the display is working OK before you hit play I wouldn't think so. When you hit play does the display dim? If it does then the power supply is the problem. If not then the control board has a problem. Let me know how you make out.

i had the same problem on a marantz cd-63 which is virtually identical
and it turned out to be a faulty button on the control PCB.
i replaced it with one out of a scrap PCB and all worked as it should.

hope this helps.

Hi, There could be damage to the tray contact switches
(these tell to the control unit the position of the tray - open/closed), so that the control unit can start/stop and reverse the direction of the tray ejector motor.

These contacts are located somewhere underneath the tray (usually near the front unit cover), and since you mentioned that the tray was bumped while it was open, it is possible they were damaged. Also, the behaviour of the tray suggests that the control unit can no longer tell whether the tray is open or closed so it operates the tray motor in a wrong manner, which, again, points to these same contacts as the possible cause.

Repairing the contacts may be a somewhat delicate procedure, first you need to locate them (it may require partial disassemby of the tray mechanism), if they are bent a pair of tweezers might do the job, if there's hard damage, it's probably better to replace them (scrapped CD ROM units or a dead CD unit might be a good source, they just need to be of the same dimensions).

There may also be other causes for this malfunction, i just mentioned the first thing that i would check

Central locking 53 vivaro

I don't know if this will help in your situation, but on my Toyota Sienna minivan, the doors autolock after a few minutes if I use the remote to unlock it and no door was opened. I think the user manual has a way to change that setting, but I like the feature so I never tried to change it. (I keep my remote on my belt, so if I accidentally unlock the van by bumping into something that presses the button, it locks up again.)

If I want to unlock it and keep it unlocked, I press the unlock button on the remote and then press the button that opens the automatic side door, and then shut the door again so the van will stay unlocked.

If your van's users manual doesn't have a way to disable the autolock feature, you can probably get the dealer to do it. If you don't have a manual you can probably find one online so you don't have to pay a dealer the full price.

The wrong button was pushed on remote and I can't increase sound and/or switch from tv to cd and etc please help

The 'wrong' button?? Would it be one that switches the remote to talk to a different device?

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Marantz-SR4600-Receivers-manual/id/511dj793/t/2/

Then treat it like a new installation and guard the remote from unintentional key presses.

Look at every indicator on the receiver and evaluate what they mean and if/how they could affect your symptom.

Start at Page 7 to understand the remote.

You can pry open the door, the pull back open as far as it will go, remove cd, press eject button and see if the system corrects itself. If not, you probably have a faulty capacitor in the unit.

CD door not opening.

Usually failure to open means a faulty motor - when you press eject ca you hear the motor spinning or is it quiet? If in the UK contact me via ebay - fluffcat1 - and I can help further.

looks like the tray is offline so basiclly its not reading the first disc because its far away from the eye so by putting another disc in and it reads it because the eye is close enough to read it .  u may have to open the player up to get the first disc out.  good luck.
