Problems with a Tomtom Go 530 not connecting to mobile phone via bluetooth , the phone is found but conection is lost during initialisation of the phone ,
I have had this connected succesfully when I first got the Tom tom
so I know its not a compatabilty problem .
When I try to connect the phone via tomtom the phone decleares connected , thin disconmected , it does this about 3 times then the tomtom says the phone is ready for use , but the phone has disconnected . so although tomtom believes it is ready it actually is not , and the phone icon on the fronmt screen has the red cross on it ..
Sorry to go on . but the Bluetooth faciltiy was one of the reasons I went for this model so I hope it can be solved easily .
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You need to switch on the bluetooth in both device then search the device in your phone ,same time while you searching in your phone press the button repeatedly in your bluetooth headset. Then device will found in the phone and connect it.
Turn on the Bluetooth wireless feature. To turn on the Bluetooth follow the below steps, 1. In Menu mode, select Applications > Bluetooth. 2.. Select the circle in the center to turn on the Bluetooth wireless feature. 3.. To allow other devices to locate your phone, select Settings > On under My phone’s visibility > Save. To connect other device to your mobile 1. In Menu mode, select Applications →Bluetooth → Search. 2. Select and drag a device icon into the centre. 3. Enter a PIN for the Bluetooth wireless feature or the other device’s Bluetooth PIN, if it has one, and select OK. When the owner of the other device enters the same PIN or accepts the connection, pairing is complete. After connecting you can start sending the files from one mobile to another mobile. To send files follow the below steps. 1. Select the file or item from one of your phone’s applications that you want to send. 2. Select Send via or Send URL via → Bluetooth, or select More → Send via Bluetooth
not a chance at all...very sorry...the bluetooth on your unit is only to be used for the TomTom Services..likeTraffic.....but here is another hint...it will ony wirk with compatible phones...and only from tmobile and at&t
List of Compatible Phones can be found here. http://www.tomtom.com/phones/compatibility/devices.php If you had your old voyager connect, make sure when you connect the new voyager, delete the phone on your tomtom in the manage phone option and delete the tomtom from the mobile in the bluetooth/paired devices option. Then try again and get the tomtom to connect to your mobile.
This is not strictly true - my iPhone connects wonderfully to my Plantronics Voyager 520 headset. It will not connect to other phones, headphones, etc. via bluetooth. It is intentionally crippled and will only connect to a headset via bluetooth.
My guess is that Apple sells songs and doesn't want you trading them around to your friends via bluetooth. Whatever the reason, it's quite annoying.
