I have a ConRoe 945g motherboard. i am getting a bang(yellow question mark) in device manager on multimedia controller. i have been unable to find a driver on the motherboard site and if i uninstall and reinstall it does the same thing.
specs: board: ConRoe 945g OS: windows xp home ASUS board.
Any help would be great. i have also downloaded the belarc and driver detective for help but neither were able to come up with a result.

control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustmentsthere or control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager, sound, could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers hope this helps
The yellow mark indicated the multimedia audio controller driver was not installed, therefore the audio won't work/no sounds.
You need to identify the make and model of the audio card and if you haven't the audio installation CD then you can download the driver from the manufacturer's WEB site.
Since the repairer fixed your computer, he should have installed the audio driver. I suggest you get the repairer to install the audio driver as it should have been part of the repair service.
Also if you see any other yellow marks against any devices in the DEVICE MANAGER then these will also need the drivers installed.
OK I see what you have... What you need is tocheck the output of your sound card with other speaker to see if the card works.
you can also take a 9 volt battery and at the end of the speaker temination, connect, completing the circuit to the speakers and scratch one of the battery terminal one or the other. This should create a sound from the speakers
try update it using online on device manager has yellow question mark or still can't get for driver go to the manufacture site of your multimedia audio try google it for site of manufacture then look for update driver for your audio . Hope this help you out ^_^
When you double click on the devices with the yellow exclamation mark what is the error or error code? You will probably have to update the drivers for these devices. What make of pc or motherboard do you have? You can usualy get updated drivers from the manufacturers website.
