All speakers can be 100 Watts. The Front speakers can use 4-8 ohms. Center and Surround jacks can use 6-8 ohm speakers.

Is a Denon most compatible with new Klipsch KB-15 speakers

no brand of receiver is matched to certain speakers. Denon is a decent brand of receiver (but most of the low to mid range models are almost identical to Pioneer inside). Go with a good receiver that has the functions that you need that fits in your budget.

Burning speakers

G'day John,

I feel you have not connected speakers of the proper impedance. If you connect speakers of lower impedanc than it should have, you will overload the ouput amp and this could blow your speakers. So I suggest you go up one level of impedance. If you have fitted 4 ohm speakers and they blew, try fitting a pair of 8 ohm speakers. Or if they were 8 ohm, fit 16 ohm Doing this will reduce the output volume from the speakers, it it will also improve the sound. The speakers will have heavier windings too.
