I HAVE MY COMPRESSOR MAX AKHL1230E AND IT NEVER TURNS OFF IT JUST KEEPS RUNNING

Francisco:
Could be one of two reasons. If the compressor does not reach full pressure in the tank, you have an air leak somewhere between the tank and the business end of the hose. Run the compressor and use a soap and water solution to find the leak and correct it. Don't forget to check the copper line leading from the compressor motor to the air tank. My compressor would not pump above 45 pounds, and I had to replace the valve body (on top of the cylinder) because a valve had cracked.

I have a craftsman air compressor model number 921.153101 that won't pump-up over 40 pounds

Its probably a oil less compressor so it could be the reed valves are bad or the piston rings are bad.

Craftsman 919.152920 air compressor shuts off

If you go to hammerwall.com and look up 919.1529 it will take you with a bit of mucking around to a Sears manual close to your model. Do not click on any of the big green download buttons. Click on the smaller blue message download bars. It tells you basically that your compressor has an internal overload which shuts the motor down if it overheats. the reason for overheating can be low voltage but also could be a stuck pump. To check turn off the power and diconnect the ppower cord from the wall. You should be able to turn the motor and pump with the drive belt. If the pump and motor will not move easily remove the drive belt and see if the motor and the pump turn freely on there own. If one or both are tight it will probably be the motor bearings if the motor is tight or the rings in the compressor if the pump is tight. It depends on your level of mechanical experiance as to wether you want to go further. Small 110v or 240v motors are a pain to pull down and the cost to repair are probably not worth it. If someone you know has a clamp tester and a test plug they could measure the amperage draw with the drive belt off and on. The amp draw should not be more than 10 amps even if you have a fiveteen amp circuit. The motor should have a sticker telling you what the amp draw should be. If all this info is getting beyone you I would suggest a visit to a serviceman for a quote.

Campbell hausfeild air pump 26 gallon runs for an hour and only produces 40 pounds of pressure what could be the problem

Head valves. Some units use simple metal strips (reed valves) while others are just a bit more complicated. Could be either a broken valve or a stuck valve. The other possibility would be a stuck one way check valve that goes into the tank and keeps the pressure from going back into the pump.

The compressor runs but the pressure will only build to approx twenty pounds and the compressor keeps running. I have used it many times before and had the discharge regulator set to approx 45 pounds, and...

You have either a broken reed valve on the valve plate or a broken piston ring and/or badly scored cylinder. To check: remove the head on the air pump, the valve plate is directly under the head. The reeds have to be in good condition, no breaks, cracks or bending, to work properly. If they are OK, check the cylinder, it should be very smooth. You will have to remove the piston to check the ring around it. They have a tendency to dry out and sometimes a small section will flip over backwards and will no longer seal the piston enough to compress the air. You'll have to contact Sears to see if parts are still available for this compressor.

What tpye of oil goes in the compressor

According to the Owner's Manual, 30 weight compressor oil is recommended. I'd use AMSOIL PCK, even though it's 40 weight. The pump will run cooler, last longer, use less gasoline, and require fewer oil changes. I'd also recommend AMSOIL's AFF 0W-40 Synthetic 4-Stroke Power Sports Oil for the motor for the same reasons.

Poter-Cable 135PSI Pancake Compressor

Check the pressure switch, they can become stuck in the open position. You can jump it to see if it is functioning or use a multimeter if you have one. Assuming that you've oiled and taken care of it it is unlikely that it simly quit, but that could happen... check across the poles of the motor for continuity which will tell you if the electric motor is blown. ALso make sure the compresor is not seized...
