Instead of using Nikon Transfer NX or another picture transfer software, drag and drop the folder on your camera directly to your computer. I will explain. When you connect your camera to your computer, your computers plug-n-play software (this is about the same for a PC or Mac) recognizes the presence of your camera's SD memory card and treats it as it treats any memory device such as an external hard drive. As a result, using Explorer on a PC or Finder on a Mac, you can open the device and any folders on that device and drag and drop it into a location of your choice on your hard drive. Once it is on your hard drive, you should be able to open and play your video on any video player program.

What program are you using to download the pics? Is it the same program you are trying to download the videos to? It probably only handles still photos, not movies. You could use a card reader and download the videos to a folder you create on your desktop and then use a program like Windows Media player or something that came with your camera to watch them. Sending videos to others through e-mail is discouraged. They are extremely large files, take forever to upload, forever to download (especially if your friends have a dial-up connection), and some ISP's won't even permit the upload or download because of the size. To share, burn the videos to DVD and pass them out to friends or upload the videos to an online site that your friends can log onto.

Upload pictures onto laptop- way too big

This is a 12.1MP camera...if you have it set to take pictures that large, then the files will be huge...too big for the internet. You have to downsize them first...that's perfectly normal. You could set the camera to take lower quality pics, but if you come across one you would like to enlarge, it won't turn out very well. Why not continue the procedure you now use if it's working for you.

Video files don't upload

Windows XP? Are you using windows movie maker (WMM) to import them? I begin by copying the ".mod" files to my computer off the flash card which I insert into my printer. THe software Canon provides is useless. Next I change the file extension to ".MPG". Next open WMM, import video file, but when it starts doing so choose cancel. I don't know why that is. If you let it continue the import it seems to lock up. It will then let you drag and drop that video clip onto a movie.

I have a fuji s2000hd, i loaded the video onto my computer, but i can't get my movies to import onto my editing program

I understand your problem and I have the same camera that videos in MP4 format (H.264) which is not user-friendly to windows movie maker, therefore, I downloaded or purchased a program that converts these MP4 file back into .AVI format, with no loss in quality, and then added them to windows movie maker on Vista, which then would accept the .AVI format to put the clips together. Once saving to your computer after the files are compiled and can then send the movie you have made to Windows DVD to turn into a DVD formatted movie. Works for me everytime. Unfortunately, this is a time consuming process but has been worth it for me.

I have a panasonic digital filming camera the NV GS60 and even though it isnt the best program i just want to upload the footage onto windows movie maker how do i do this?

Hi, I believe that camera comes with a firewire cable. Does your computer have that? If so, just connect the camcorder to your computer and power on the camera. Your Operating system should recognize it. Then open MS moviemaker. You can control what footage you want to capture from within moviemaker. It is timeconsuming and requires quite a bit of free disk space as the imported files can get rather large and hard to work with once they are over 1GB.

Can't upload video on PC

the computer might not automatically upload the file. it will detect the hardware, but not necessarily start uploading. if you have xp, try going into movie maker which is in your program list in the start menu. on the left hand side there is a few blue sentences, one is import video, another is import video from device. if you have your camera connected to the computer through firewire and have your camera on the vcr/playback mode, open movie maker and click import video from device, the computer will have already detected your camera, so the first option your given in the next screen should have the make and model of your camera to upload from.
