You probably just have a circuit breaker that's become weak or is overloaded running other things as well as your machine. Have you tried an outlet powered by a different breaker? Also, if you're using an extension cord it will raise the resistance and the current draw.

Eureka powerline umc-18 vacuum quit working

The Motor has locked up due to over heating. Once that happens the only way to go is either replace the motor drive or get a new cleaner. Do not try and keep energizing the Vacuum as you could blow circuit-breakers or start an electrical fire.

Breaker keeps tripping

If you can unplug the central vac and plug it into a different outlet that you know is on a different breaker and test it out to see if it trips the breaker,or temporarily rewire the central vac to a different power supply.Make sure the breaker is the correct amperage for the central vac, last read the instructions to see if you need a dedicated circuit breaker, you might have to many accessories plugged into that outlet.

Suddenly stopped running in the middle of vacuuming a room. Tried another outlet and still no power.

You have to go to the electrical panel that serves your home or apartment and locate the fuse that is blown [ if there are fuses, replace the blown one with a new one of the same amperage] or the circuit breaker which has kicked part way off. With a circuit breaker you have to turn it all the way off and then back on in order to reset it.

Vacuum stopped in middle of vacuuming our carpet. Would not startup at switch. Tried other electrical outlets wondering if this was the problem and checked breakers, but it still did not go back on.

2 guesses.... One is that you vacuumed up a pice of cord or sting that got wound up on the roller (if it's that tyme of machine, and NOW everything's completelt "loced." Cure: look at the brush roller and "unwind" the cord or string.

Two is that you were doing it for a long time and the thermal circuit breaker (which is IN the vacuum cl;eaner itself) over heated and cut out. Usually these are self-resetting, so in a 1/2 hour or 45 minutes - when the thing coold down, it'll start working again.

Note that my first suggestion COULD cause the motor to heat up the and cause the thermal cur out.
