You should reprogram your remote. Start with the tv on. You have got to find a code that will operate all of the functions you want it to. In others some code will only turn on the tv. Some codes will work with volume and the channels. Once you find a code that works you should be able to operate the tv with the remote. It sounds like to me when you put new batteries you erased the function of your mitsbishi remote. So once the tv turns off you have found your code.. but make sure before you save it you write down on something; and, it works all of the functions that you want it to.
