Question about Lifeguard Systems Health & Beauty

Open Question

My lifeguard breathalyzer keeps turning on and off on its own?

I start it and as soon as I tip it up to blow, it shuts off until I hold it horizontally again.

SOURCE: My 2000 Ram 2500 AC blows cold until I step on the breaks. As soon as I break it starts blowing real hot. Starts cold again after I turn it off and turn it back on. Break again, it blows hot again

check for a fault in the climate control module that is affected by a power surge/ depletion from the brake circuit. It would appear that the ac compressor is being switched off by the fault and switches on again when you recycle the switch( could be a relay to the ac compressor.)

Keeps blowing auto shut down fuse as soon as key is turned on

Could be several things including one of the oxygen sensors, one of the injectors, the coils, or the engine computer.
You will probably need to get a shop manual to get all of the wiring diagrams connected with that circuit. And I would suggest you use a circuit breaker to check each one instead of fuses.
You'll have to disconnect each component until you find the short.

The Breathalyzer was wrong and i was kept an hour waiting

Did you use any alcoholic mouthwash? Sometimes the breathalyzer detects alcohol in the breath that has nothing to do with alveolar air. Instead of detecting the alcohol that comes up with air from the lungs, after having been absorbed through stomac and intestines and carried around through blood, the breathalyzer detects the alcohol that sits in the aesofagus or in the throat and mouth, either brought up with a burp or deposited from a mouthwash. Therefore the level of alcohol in these two instances is much higher than if an alcoholic drink were ingested, and therefore the officers have to make sure to keep an eye on the suspect to understand if there is in fact too much alcohol in his or her system or if it's a mistake made by their tool.

Can i buy a breathalyzer to keep track of my drinking when i have to drive?

Yes and No. You can buy your own breathalyzer but it's not a good idea to rely on it.
Breathalyzers can be bought for personal use but these and the ones used for law enforcement do not provide the same accuracy. While the ones that the officers use are approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and can be faulty sometimes, but provide a more accurate result to BAC (blood alcohol content), the ones that are sold to the public are approved by the FDA and are much less accurate. It is not a good idea to rely on their results as they might lead you to thinking you can drive while instead you drank too much.

Sputtering while driving and running funny.

It could be a clogged fuel filter or you could have a old gas coated inside the carbrator. Seafoam will fix that up in a hurry. Don't be supprised if it blows smoke its cleaning all the junk bout of your carbrator. I would start with the simpelist things first. Fuel filter Check your carbrator Throttle adjustment Fuel pump relay Defiantly get a Haynes manual it will trouble shoot you through your problem.

Hold the power button down. Keep it down until the unit powers off. Then press power to start the machine up, and as soon as you hear the starting chime (boooong) press Command+Option+P+R and keep them held down until you hear the startup sound 3 times. Then you can let go and it should start normally.

Verify fuse is correct size, then see what you are turning on else when it blows. Fuel pumps are designed to pump up then shut off, until needed when starting and running. It might not be shutting off and staying running when vehicle is not running. Make sure ground circuit is in good shape and positive side as well. Does this blow fuses when you go to start, or does it start and run for awhile then blow?
