The water is still in the bottow of the dishwater and the cycle is in the heating mode. The dial is making noise as if it wants to move forward, but it can't. It stop well before the heating cycle...

Have you recently installed a garbage disposal? If so, you probably didn't knock out the plug where the drain hose from the dishwasher attaches to. Just disconnect the hose from the garbage disposal, use a punch or screwdriver and tap it out with a hammer. (Don't forget to remove the plug from the grinder area) Then reconnect the hose.

Whirlpool dishwasher makes a loud notise then

The spray arms do sometimes wear and need replacenent, and are available fron spares centres.
The loud noise is probably the water pressure pushing it off at an angle, and instead of rotating, water will just escape out one side - so your dishes will not get clean untill it is replaced.

GE Dishwasher makes loud banging noise

Check the stainless steel cover on the bottom of the lower rack sprayer. If it has been bent downward on either end, it will hit the inside panel of the door near the bottom. It may score the panel as it hits on each rotation of the sprayer.

Just bend it back in position, carefully, with a pair of pliers. The technique required is similar to bending the pocket clip of a fountain pen back into the proper position after it has been sprung out too far. You might practice on a pen or mechanical pencil clip to see what I mean.

GE Triton XL Dishwasher not cleaning glasses

Check to see if the spinner holes are clogged with food..or debris...this is what makes the sprayer arms move....water pressure...which is pumped up through the sprayer arms .......I s the pump working...if so....then you may also have some blockage at the base of the pump where the screen is that keeps impurities out of the pump....check to see that food or debris is not obstructing this.

I hope this help....have a good day and good luck...please rate my effort...the Fang

On certain cycles, the motor makes a very loud humming noise.

quite possible that noise is from foriegn debris( ie.chicken bone of pistachio shell, toothpicks) getting into macerator/chopper assy, wouldnt panic just yet, give it a fewloads to try to clear itself, a few screws leading down through the top of motor assy (under lower spray arm should give you access to assy if needed

Dishwasher not spraying

It could be a motor or a pump issue. The dishwasher has a motor that attached to a pump which forces the water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, it pushes the water out of the dishwasher. The motor (and pump) located beneath the dishwasher. Good luck!
