Remote will not work

We have tried two sets of brand new batteries. Yes, they are in correctly. The red indicator light is lit. Nothing happens. We cannot increase the volume, change the channel, etc. Remote was working fine last evening. I even cleaned the battery connections with alcohol. Still nothing. Help!

I have a 27 inch Magnavox TV, Model is TP2770 C101. Recently, the TV started responded intermittently to remote controller commands, then stop responding at all. I've tried several remote controllers, but cannot get any that will synch up to the TV using the code search. I have convinced myself the problem is within the TV set, not a problem with the remote controls. Have cleaned the IR sensor on the TV as best I can to no avail. Someone have an idea where I should start looking in the TV?

If the light is staying on this means that a button is stuck down on your remote. It might be defective I would contact the company about warranty.

Remote control doesn't work. Small red light stays lit.

First check the remote control with a similar TV.

By keeping a MW radio receiver you can check the functioning of the remote by pressing the keys. Radio will give garble sound!

If remote is OK , TV has to be checked.

WE are trying to get our lionel holiday train going. Is there an on/off switch on the train? the part that goes on the track is lit up but when we puch the remote control with train on the track nothing...

There is no on/off switch. Remote will give no indication of working. Try putting engine and coal car only and try. I have had this train set for two years and the remote tends to work whenever it wants.
