Taping TV shows

I need to tape a tv show to view it later.  I have a sharp vc h954 but I don't have the manual.   Can you tell me, in simple terms, what to do?

Re: Taping TV shows

You need to have an antenna in (from TV antenna or cable). Set the VCR to that channel and press RECORD. Or use the on screen menu to set up the recording time/channel

You really need to have a manual to find the step by step instructions for your VCR. Go to this website and search
for a VCR manual from Sharp. I was there and did not find the exact manual.Download a couple of ones that have similar model numbers and follow the process.

Or call Sharp and ask them to fax/email you a manual.

It depends what you are recording from. Most newer tv broadcast will block the recording by injecting copyright code into the stream. It forces you to get a dvr system from the company like cable or satellite. Because of the new digital broadcast it makes over the air recording to vhs difficult. More for the fact that you have to hook a converter box to the vcr to get the signal from digital to analog again. Here is the link to the manual.

Taping shows on a jvc vcr.

Well from memory... you have to Plug in the Antenna to the Video, then from Video to TV, then ya Tune in the "Tuner" section of the Unit.. that outputs on ya TV, then you can simply press the record button(s).. also there is the option of Timer Recording... There was also a TV/VCR switch that had to be toggled on some models... But ya really need a manual I believe the manual is at the below link...
