SOURCE: Bissell 3510 Vac with loud noise but not belt

Did you check the brush roll, may have a problem with it. But you could have a problem with a motor bearing going bad, they getting loud, also if there is a problem with the motor fan, that may be the cause of it being loud. Bissell 3510 either is obsolete or is thw rong number, it doesn't come up at the Bissell site.

SOURCE: motor makes loud growling noise, no suction on

Growling sound on a canister is normally caused by a suction fan wobbling loose due to damage or a bad bearing. Loss of suction would occur if the fan is loose or damaged. If the bearing is bad but the fan intact you will still lose suction as the motor will not run properly out of balance. Take it to a Miele service center for parts

My miele flamenco II vacuum cleaner motor makes a loud grinding noise what's wrong with the motor?

Hello Louis Casado,

Most of these motors make noise because the bearings have gone bad and need replacing...
(loss of lubricant or other-than-round ball bearings).

Alternatively... the rotor brushes have picked up something that is clashing with the housing... and needs to be resolved.

Clean it all... really good & run it without a load...

If all else fails to remedy your situation... pull the beater brush and cut everything but the fixed bristle rotor brush... clean it... cut it free... check out all clearances... and return it to service

Hope this helps!

Happy hunting!

Hoover steam vac spin vac making loud noise sparks flying

The only source for electrical sparks is the motor so it must be checked. Bad motor brushes or a broken wire are possible causes. Do not use in this condition.

Miele upright vacuum makes loud noise and dust comes out at bottom

It sounds to me like one of the hoses is plugged, probably the one that comes from the brushroll. That would make the dust and dirt come back out the front and would not let the vac pick up like normal. Clear the plug and you're machine should start cleaning better again.

Why is my central vac. making such a loud noise. It sounds like jet getting ready for take off. It seems to be getting louder. I'm not using it because i'm afraid it's going to explode or...

The bearing or the motor is warn out they last 15 years in the case. In some rare case the brush ware out or the rely can catch fire, most central vacuum are not made to be oiled! Hot oil will catch on fire. Best to unplug the vacuum unit call a few shops and ask replacement motor cost, if you remove the Vac and take to them it will cost less.

My Miele capricorn has started making an odd noise. It seems like something is blocking the engine. I've turned if off and on, and reset it and it still have the odd, almost loud barking noise. The power...

Greetings,

This is a major problem. The Miele vacuums motor should never make a loud noise, period. The way the motor is designed, it's quiet and should be quiet for the life of the motor. There are two motors on your Miele canister. One of the motors controls only the suction of the vacuum, while the other motor controls the power brush. Which one of your motors is making this horrible noise? You can tell this by removing the wands and power brush so that you just have the handle of the hose by itself. Now turn on the vacuum, do you still hear this noise? If yes, then this is a problem with your suction motor, and you need to bring this in to have an authorized Miele repair center take a look at it. The reason I say that is because you have a 7 year warranty on that suction motor, so if something is wrong with that motor, then this will be covered under Miele warranty. If it's the power brush motor that's causing the sound, this probably will not be covered unless the vacuum is under 1 year old. If it is the power brush, please just use the clarificaiton request here on Fixya and let me know, I'd be more then happy to try and walk you through diagnosing the power brush motor with you.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you did find this helpful, please be sure to click the thumbs up icon in the repair. I really appreciate it.

Kenmore upright vac model 33922 - good suction but developed loud whining noise after accidentally vacuuming room without bag. Added bag and changed both filters. Still makes noise. How can I stop noise?

The bag is the first stage in your filtration. Most times what you did will draw fine dust right through the filters and into the motor itself, affecting the bearings and clogging the motor fans, throwing them off balance.
The fact that there is a new noise would seem to indicate bearing problems which will only worsen unless the vac motor is dismantled, fans cleaned and bearings either replaced or cleaned and repacked.

Loud noise when running.

Bad bearing or fan in the motor is most likely the problem. You would have to replace the motor.
