You might need a new switch

In an electric motor there are start windings and run windings. When the motor first starts in is running on the start windings. When it gets up to the proper speed a switch inside the motor will switch to the run windings. It is fairly simple to replace. A good electric motor shop can make this easy repair and it will be much less than the cost for a new motor.

SOURCE: How to change blade on 10" Craftsman table saw?

you need to grab the blade with something.maybe some pliers(if you are not going to refurbish blade) and loosen the nut in the center of the blade. i think it is a left hand thread(cw to loosen) because of the rotation of the blade. if the nut is on the left when looking from the front it is probably left handed. make sure it's unplugged and wear leather gloves so you don't get cut. install in reverse...

SOURCE: saw will not run

I had the same problem several months ago with a craftsman (shut down during a long rip), and the reset switch had tripped but did not actually pop out. I tested everything in the line between the power supply and the motor, and found out that the reset switch was not conducting. I was able to reset it manually before re-installing it into the saw, and it's been fine ever since. I'd test that before you start pulling the motor out, it would be a much easier fix if the switch was just sticking.

First of all, how did you determine that power was getting to the motor? If you can test for power with a voltmeter at the motor connections themselves and show power then the switch is OK and the circuit breaker is not tripped. Turn off power and attempt to turn the blade " CAREFULLY" and if it moves easily then the motor is probably defective and will have to be replaced. After turning the motor and finding it easy to turn, then turn the power back on and try to start the saw again. Be carefull because the saw may start. If the blade will not turn then the motor is definitely defective and will have to be replaced.

Good Luck!

I can no longer raise or lower the blade on my 10" sears table saw' model # 113.298032.

After some use the threads on the raising mechanism can become clogged with sawdust and resin.
UNPLUG the saw and look underneath up inside the box. there is a rod that runs from the wheel you turn to raise and lower the blade into the actual mechanism. Brush it clean and give it a good douse of WD40 to help clean it. That rod must turn freely so look for any obstructions that will prevent that from happening

Table saw cuts off

Probably the overload trip is set to too low a current. Either this or it is faulty.
It is just possible that there is dust in the contacts which causes a bad contact but it is more likely to be the overload trip.

Does not turn on. The wood was at an angle and jammed when it quit working

Hello. I recommend that you check your circuit breaker or fuse which is in the house panel and feeds the outlet that your saw is plugged into.
I believe that you will find that you solution is to reset the breaker or change the fuse.

Table saw capacitor heats up and explodes.

The wrong capacitor for one thing. There are starting caps and running caps. The starting cap is in the circuit for only long enough for the motor to get up to speed. If you have a Leeson motor that has a start and run cap then the run cap may not be the correct on. If you have a start cap blowing out I suggest you check the centriifugal switch in the end of the motor. It may have welded the contacts shut. In any case, I would take it to a motor shop .

no good solution for that problem. dado blades vibrate and cause the knob to turn. possibly a clamp on the knob to keep it in place.
