Hi! You need to be subscribed with Netflix before you can activate it on Roku. The channel is free on Roku but you need to have a subscription before you can activate it.

If smart tv that can get on the internet, yes. No, if it is a dummy. However if you get an external streamer such as a Roku box you can get Netflix but you will have to pay for a subscription to the service if you do not already have it.

Need an activation code to enter into my netflex account.. where do I find it?

Before you can use any channels that require a code, and a subscription, you will first need to setup a Roku account.
Which can be done here: https://my.roku.com/signup

When you finish that, you will need to link each of your Roku devices to that account. The code given from your device to link to your account, can be entered at this address: https://my.roku.com/link

Now you can add channels like "Netflix" from the Roku Store to your device. When you've added a channel to your Roku, you've only added the linking app, or it's icon, to your channel line-up.
* The first time you try to run any channel requiring a code to function properly, you should see a screen on your television, from the Roku device, which provides both a linking code, and a corresponding web address. Enter that code at the web-address given, in a browser on your computer.
Or sign into your Netflix account, and this is the address needed to link your device to Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/Activate
That's where you can enter the specific code to link your Netflix account to your Roku account.

If you ever need to add additional devices to your Netflix account, simply sign in to your account on-line... Go to account settings, and look for add a device.
To summarize,
1. You first need to setup a Roku account.
2. Next link your device/devices to that Roku account.
3. Add channels requiring subscription from the Roku Store.
4. Link those subscription channels to your Roku account.

Trying to use roku device to get Netflix

I believe there were some early promotions on streaming devices that included a "Trial-Period" for Netflix, or one of the other services. For under $10.00 a month, Netflix isn't very expensive, and allows streaming to multiple devices, up to four I think, for no additional charge. There are several other channels carried on streaming devices that are in the same ballpark as Netflix, and monthly fees go. Roku does have many available 'Free' channels that can be found in their 'Channel Store,' but typically if you're looking for newer content, there's a subscription fee. Even with two, or three of these subscription, you'd be paying far less than most cable subscribers.

How do I Put in my activation code for HBOGO for my ROKU streaming device? The Roku/link website doesn't work either. Please help

If you have HBOGo, you sign in with your email address and password that you have on your computer. It's not a scam. You have to have HBO subscription so you can get HBOGO free. Netflix charges $8.00 a month to stream their movies. Even if you have a Roku, you still have pay for a subscription.

Is Netflix free with Comcast customers ? I have tv/phone and computer.

Not generally. Netflix is a standalone subscription service that delivers video content to your internet connected computer or wifi enabled tv, phone, or device. While Comcast could possibly offer Netflix as part of a promotional campaign, Netflix is not part of Comcast and is available to anyone on a month to month basis.

How do i enter the code to activate my roku

Lets use Netflix for an example. Other programs will do the same. When you select Netflix from the menu there will be a message to enter the code that is shown on the screen.. To do this you log on to Netflix, pay the subscription price and then type in the code you see on your TV screen. Once that is done Netflix will become operational.
