If your main power fuse was blown, there would be no power at all. You may be looking at a blown preamp or an overheated component inside your receiver. You may want to take it in to a service technician. Have you tried to contact Philips customer service?

What would cause new fuse to blow when powering on (Sony STR-DN1030 Receiver).

Look in the circuit board area where the power cord mates with it for capacitors that have bulging tops (instead of the flat tops that are normal). If you see even one, you need to replace all the large capacitors othe power supply section (normally around 5 or 6).

The receiver turns off 2 seconds after turning power on....red light blinks

have you got all the wires wired in correctly.have you extended your speaker cables and not insulated them(wires could be touching each other).maybe a blown fuse inside.although i think if it were a fuse,it probably wouldnt light up at all.my experience with my system is that if i wire up something wrong, the power button light which is a green light, will change to red to let me know something is not right.(its warning me before i blow something up)!!yours might be doing the same thing only flickering to let you know somethings wrong. If none of this helps then you should send it in for repair.Dont be afraid to open your system and look for a glass fuse(s) about 20mm long.if you find one and its blown, then you are lucky.a blown fuse is better than a blown system

Tv won't turn on. red power light is out

red light is on, but when the tv is turned on, it immediately shut down and goes back to the red light setting. It is like it blows a fuse or something to that effect.Post Solution

The most likely problem is shorted output transistors. This is a straightfoward repair for any shop that works on audio gear. Expect a parts cost in the $40-$50 range.

Denon DRA 395 flashing red power light

Needs to be reset or fuse blown. Take to repair shop, cover has to be taken off and fuse replaced. You could fix it yourself but the warranty won't be honored. Do it yourself electronic shop should have a replacement fuse, may have to be soldered in place. Repair shop, should cost around $30.00 to $45.00 to fix, price of fuse $4.00 to $6.00. Your choice.

So how do you replace a fuse?

Hmm. Tricky problem. It could be the main fuse blown and the standby power suply is only working. Worts case senerio is that one of your amp is faulty and the unit is in protection mode. If the fuse is dead then you are lucky, just get the cover open, remove the power before hand, and do a little search, Most of the time it will be in a glass tube ( glass cartridge type) rated at 250VAC with a nominal of around 5 to 7 amps rated current. U can check it with DMM in a continuity mode. If fuce blown replace with the same rating and it has to be slow blow type. Cheers
