Question about Pentair IntelliFlo VS-3050 & VS+SVRS Variable Speed Pump -
A two year old Pentair Intelliflo pump has a power out failure alarm on the control panel. I checked and the voltage to pump is 245v. The green power light is on and the alarm light does a constant flash. Every few seconds I hear a clicking sound. Any help or ideas of what to check next would be appreciated.

On the normal vs-3050, you need to reset the whole unit. You do this by holding all 4 speed buttons for 30 seconds. After thi, shut off the power at the breaker. let sit for 2 minutes. Restore power and all setting are reset. I cant find any information about the SVRS model, but it should work the same way.

We need more info. Which control system is it? Suntouch, easytouch, intellitouch.......? It sounds like a programming problem in the controller.

Check the wiring connections, and count how many times the alarm light blinks upon start up. It is probably a loose or broken connection, but the alarm blinks will give us more information to go on if its not.
I install these regularly for 3 years and the only time I saw this incident was when I had a bad connection inside the J-box.

Use a meter to measure voltage at the motor terminals...If the unit is getting power the trouble lies within the motor; if not look at the controls. The click should be the relay for the motor closing. If you do not have power to the motor you will want to start with that relay; check for incoming and outgoing voltage. I imagine that if there is no power to the motor you will find the relay is bad. The click suggests the low voltage side is working and the relay is trying to close but if the primary is burned up no power will get to the motor.
If the motor is getting power you'll probably want to pull it and take it to a local electric motor repair shop. They should be able to identify what failed and offer a repair quote if the motor can be salvaged.
