No, This is normal. As the freezer gets cold it also dehumidifies the air in the freezer. There is a drain tube in the bottom of the freezer that directs the water into the basin, where it will evaporate. You should wash the basin every six months and add a little bleach (1/4 cup) when you reinstall the tray. This keeps it disinfected and odorless.

We bought used fridge Inglis/Niagara Model ICT85000 Mfg06/93 when we close fridge door freezer door opens. When we close freeze door fridge door opens. This is a top freezer. Is there a repair

Inglis are a budget make. The cold for the fridge comes from a vent from the freezer. Don't let the door slam. You must close them gently.

Model CTX18GAZBRWW - (Hotpoint) no-frost - freezer on top Water collects under the vegetable drawers and must be removed every day.

Something to try....on the back wall of the fridge nearer to the top is a little cup like part sticking out. There is water in it but it usually runs down an attached tube inside back wall and ends up under the fridge and gets evaporated. If that tube or the little cup thing is plugged then it will drip in the fridge and collect on the inside bottom of the fridge. So the trick is to clean them out. Check it out ...may solve the problem.

Refrigerator leaking water from freezer compartment, freezing along walls of freezer, but running water out under door

Sounds like the defrost water drain is plugged up. It could be a piece of food wrapper fell into it, or something. What make and model is it? Top freezer? Side by Side?

6 yr old side by side inglis fridge/freezer. water

can be from an obstruction (i.e. food or debris) or incomplete defrost. water forms around the drain during defrost cycle and ices up when cooling cycle comes on. defrost the drain and try installing a heat probe part#819043 made by whirlpool.its a metal rod that wraps around the heater and goes into the drain opening to prevent the drain from icing up. hope this helps.

What causes water to run in bottom of refrigarator

This is caused by plugged drain tube. When the freezer goes through a defrost cycle the water drains down a tube in the back of the freezer to the pan under the refrigerator. When this tube is plugged the water doesnt drain through the tube but drains through the vent in the refer. The easy way to fix this is to unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours.

Refrigerator condensation

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 70262990. When I get wet shelves (water, not just condensation), I was able to trace my source to the cold air vent from the freezer. In my case, the water melts from the evaporator and collects in the rear lower section of the freezer. It is "supposed" to go down the drain tube. However I had the drain hole freeze over. Then additional water from the defrost cycle would accumulate in the freezer floor (under the plastic floor) and eventually find its way down the cold air vent between the freezer and refrigerator section. You'll need to unplug the unit, take the plastic floor out of the freezer, remove the evaporator panel to access the defrost drain, melt the frozen water (hair drier works nice), and remove all the water (towel/sponge & bucket). Make sure the drain is not frozen and not blocked. Then put it back together and plug it in.

Does anyone know how to stop the drain tube from freezing over?

Good luck.
