Question about 2013 Land Rover LR2 - All LR2 models - Weathershield HP Car Cover

2013 start-up problems

I am looking to buy a 2013 LR2. Did these ones also have the same ignition (start-up) problems. I believe they went for a 2.0 Litre turbo charged engine on this. I have seen lot of people suggesting buying a BMW X3 or other brands as compare to Land Rover. Did someone has a LR2, who experienced the same problem. :-)

Ok as an experienced mechanic. no vehicle should have start up problem. but as far as landrover concern, there are plenty of failures and they never called the models back because it would be a big loss and could lead them to insolvency.

I was driving my lr2 and heard load beep then all instraments went dead on dash, radio and rir still work but when i stopped and put in park throtle stopped working and can not shift out of park.

It sounds like you have a dead battery or a total loss of power in the electrical system, this would be an issue that will require some special testing.

Hi Got a 2013 sgh honda 125 bike hooter just went

First check the fuse is okay. If it is okay, horns generally work by earthing when you press the button with the ignition on. Turn your ignition on, find the 2 wires that are connected to the horn and check if there is power to one. If there is, earth/ground the other connection and see if it works. If it does I would suspect the wiring. Alternatively, remove the horn, connect one of the electrical spade directly to the battery live and then earth/ground the other spade. If it doesn\'t sound then it is faulty and cheap to replace. Of course check all connections are clean and well connected.

Why battery and engine light on 2009 land rover lr2

Most likely a bad battery. The batteries in the Land Rovers, as well as other batteries, are lasting about three to four years so if yours is now 5 years old, it's probably time for a replacement. Have you tried slow charging it to full capacity or having someone jump starting you to see if the veghicle will crank over? If that works, I'd look at having the battery replaced. I made a lot of short trips with a new 2013 LR4 and the Battery Low warning came on and I had to slow charge the battery overnight to bring it up to correct voltage. The difference between a good and bad battery is only a bit more than a half volt when fully charged,(12.6 or 12.7 volts full vs 12.00 less than 25% charged and 11.9 dead) so if your battery when charged doesn't show above about 12.5 volts it's time for a replacement.

I have problem the key FOB can't inserted to the key slot for ignition. before i was thought because of the battere is low, then i tried with the spare one, but it is the same problem. it won't accepted...

This sounds like a non FOB issue, if the internal FOB battery is dead it will still start and run the truck just not unlock the doors/hatch. Check your battery and connections.

Intermittently won't start (2008 LR2 HSE)

I would separate the problems into 3 categories and see if they collectively point to one common defective part.
1. Instrument Panel power problem. Check to find if there is a Relay and how it gets power and what else is powered by the same Relay. Sometimes a Backlite bulb is just going out.
2. Engine Performance Low. This alert should have printed material in some Manual about all of the causes for this Warning. The BEST scanners predict causes by "most likely" to occur listed first, and follow to least likely. The Mechanic acts accordingly.
3. Ignition key reader/ Programmable Keychip. You need to have the Key reader identify the Keychip and a good Keychip to read. Maybe new Ignition switch.
I would be interested in the outcome of this case. Also look at AboutAutomobile.com site to reference your make and model vehicle for Recalls, reported problems, TSB's.
Please advise if this has been helpful.

My 2008 Land Rover LR2 HSE key fob won't

So did you fix your problem? I'm now having the same exact problem. The key simply doesn't work; HOWEVER, I know the key is not dead. I also have a 2008 LR2 and there is no "Battery" in the key fob. I compained countless times to the dealer that the key would just stop unlocking doors on me. They told me the battery charges when it is in the ignition but there is no battery to replace. They recommeded I rotate my main and spare key to make sure they're both always charged. Well, I do, and same problem.

This problem started one year ago and I complained that I should not have to spend $500 for them to replace the key... because a 3-year-old key SHOULD NOT be dying. And not to mention, a large chunk of that $500 is for them to "program" the key.

I have an appointment on Friday at a certified Land Rover repair shop but NOT the dealer. The shop I called said the '08 LR2 has "huge key issues." I have had it with Land Rover and their lack of interest in helping deal with the problem, which I might add is clearly THEIR problem, if so many are having similar problems.

I will post an update after my appointment Friday.

My seats just died on my new LR2

there are connectors on the back side of the switch panel on the bottom side of the seat, but the plastic trim panel is a pain to take off. you can check to see that all is still plugged in and nothing came unplugged accidentally. odds are that your module will need to have some updated software downloaded by the dealer. i feel your pain though, i was one of many of land rover's technician layoffs!

How do you reset the service button info on the Land Rov er 2 (LR2)? I just had my oil changed and I can't figure it out.

Turn off the car's ignition.
Hold down the reset button on the dash board to zero the mileage.
keep it held in.
turn the car's ignition on - but do not start.
keep the button in for 5 seconds.
a menu will come up - like date/mileage.
let go and then press the button again.
it will toggle through some options - then get to 'rst'
press the button again, and your done
