Question about Carter Products Rikon 14" Sears 14" Professional Guide Conversion Kit

The guide assembly on my craftsman band saw for the blade will not run paralell to the blade. when i run it up it moves to one side of the blade and when i run it dow it moves to the opposite side of

The Guide assembly will not ride true to the blade causing me to readjust the guide bearings every time I have to move it. I have removed every part to see if there were any obstructions in the way of the guide assembly, but there were none. as I looked at the saw I noticed that the front of the saw was not square so I fixed that, but it had little effect on the problem. this model has a folded steel frame and not a cast steel frame. I can not see any way to adjust this guide bar and correct the swaying back and forth of the guide assembly. I am shure it is supposed to run true to the blade as it travels from the bottom to top and top to bottom of its travel. Is this an inherent problem with this type of saw or is there some way to adjust the assembly?

Sounds like something's bent. You might need some replacement parts. 14" band saws, regardless of brand, are generally made with Chinese parts that are knockoff Delta-Rockwell parts from many years ago. Grizzly sells most of these parts at reasonable prices. Check the exploded views of their saws to see if the parts match. Craftsman parts are expensive, even though they're the same part.

I have Sears- Craftsman 10" band saw #113.244510. after installing new tire the blade tracks to the rear. Have followed manual but cannot solve proble- any suggestions?

Check this blog first. Are you installing a new blade? If the blade is running backwards, you just have to reverse it, turn inside out. Try watching the Alex Snodgrass' Youtube video Band Saw Tune Up .

Problem is we have model#113.247210 band saw and it quits,running/ordered new motor and belt/and still blade stops running when I cut a piece of wood/and it is sqealing.

Hello, W/D here.

I'm assuming here that the tension on the belt is set properly.

It sounds like a bearing in one of the wheels is going out, but the squealing sound indicates that the blade guide(s) may be a part of the issue. Here's how to check:
Loosen and remove the blade. Start the machine and listen to the lower wheel bearings. Remove the belt from the pulley on the band saw.
Spin each wheel separately, being careful not to get your fingers hung up. Listen for grinding bearings, slow revolutions compared to one another, etc. If you can isolate the problem, lubricate or replace the bad bearing.
If the bearings check out to be normal, replace the blade. Set the blade guides so that they are close, without touching, and roll the wheels again. Look for pinch points where the blade passes through the guides. If yours is equipped with a roller plate guide behind the blade, check that it moves freely. (I haven't been able to locate a diagram of the model listed, so I'm not sure if you have one or not).
Replace the guard and start the machine. Try running a piece of scrap wood, and try to determine where the blade is binding. Usually, the blade will bind in the guides, but anything that the blade can touch when it is deflected when cutting should be looked for.
This is all that comes to mind. Hopefully it will help you locate the source of the problem.
Best regards, --W/D--

Where is the tracking adjustment on the Craftsman 12inch Tilt Head Bandsaw?

The tracking adjustment is on the top wheel in the middle-spin the wheel by hand ( please make sure its unplugged first ) if the blades moves towards the front of the saw turn 1/4 turn clockwise and turn counterclockwise if its going the other way. remember that alot of things can cause your blade not to track right. I would back off all guides and rollers, top and bottom, adjust the tracking -then move guides and rollers back in. also the rule of thumb on your guides is not to touch the blade but to be as close as possible-make sure they are both even-set back 1/32 from the gulliet i.e the deepest part of the blade teeth. One other thing is the bearing in the back(back up bearing) should not touch the blade when wood is NOT going through (set it close, but not touching).

Sorry for the long answer but I've been there-get the manual and it shows it alot better.

Band Saw Blade won't stay on

A lot of the larger band saws, and I don't know about your particular model, has an ajustment on the bottom wheel that tilts the wheel in order to track the blade. It is right at the axle and tilts it from there.  If the back guide is a roller bearing I woud think you would want to roll all of the time.  If a solid bearing block natually a small space where it  will not hit is enough.
