Question about HP LaserJet 2430dtn Printer
When we installed a new cartridge we got the backdoor paper jam error message but the printer worked fine with no paper jam until we installed a new cartridge. After that the printer would not work at all, the motor does not turn on.
Silly questions first: did you remove the seal before fitting the cartridge? Second, if you still have the original cartridge try swapping it for the new one and try again. It may be that the cartridge is faulty - it does happen.
The cartridge you have should have the number Q6511A or Q6511X, if it doesn't you may have been given the wrong cartridge. Another possibility is that you have paper caught in the duplexer tray. That is accessed by removing the paper tray 2 and dropping down a flap inside. remove anything still in there and restart the printer.

Testimonial: "I removed the seal, the cartridge is the correct one and when I put the old cartridge back in I still had the same problem. Nothing is caught anywhere. The printer was working perfectly until I changed the cartridge, it is a non-HP cartridge but I have used the same type many times before without any problems."

SOURCE: hp 2355 all in one error message
mine HP was acting the same way after a jam. I contacted hp and they told me it was a hardware issue and that I would need to purchase a new printer. I found a KB on thier site for this issue. It involved removing both ink carts and then reseting the printer with the ink carts out. it seemed to work.

This could also happen due to the censors.
Try these steps.
1. Take all the papers out from input tray.
2. Open the cart door & take the cart out,and let the door be open.
3. Turn Off the printer.
4. Clean the metal contacts on the cart.
5. Reinsert the papers & the cart.
6. Turn the printer on.
This could resolve the issue.
All the Best!!!!!!

Well....I solved the problem......bought a new Canon printer!!
I tried everything...unplugging, cleaning everything that was mentioned above. I was onto HP online support several time, but they were absolutely no help at all...they basically told me that the cartridge must be damaged or ink dried up and to buy a new cartridge to see if the error persisted.....I don't think so!!!
I will never by HP again after having issues with the last two I have had. I love my new Canon printer it is EVERYTHING that HP wasnt.

This error comes due to carriage jam. Turn off the printer and unplug it from wall socket. Now, remove the cartridges and check for any dried up ink residue on cartridges on inside the carriage. Clean the cartridges contacts and carriage using a Q-tip dipped i alcohol. Let the carriage and cartridges dry before you plug in the printer.
Install the cartridges and check. If it still shows error then unplug the power cord coming to the printer without switching it off. Now, remove the rear door of the printer and check for any paper jams over there, remove if any. Wit for at least 15 seconds and plug in the power cord. Now check whether it is working.
