The inverter would have to be motor rated as the starting torque is much higher than the running watts required. Starting at 240v is around 5 amps, running about 2a at most.

Compressor runs but fans dont.

If the compressor is running and pumping with no heat produced, you have lost refrigerant.. Most modern freezers have a controlled fan so the coil can freeze before the fan starts.

My camper fridge , Engel SRBT-565D Does not run on 12V ?

The compressor is on the way out and exceeds the current capacity of the 12v inverter circuit. The compressor runs on 32V AC @50 Hz and the inverter circuit is not able to produce sufficient current when the compressor becomes worn. It still runs on 240V circuit as this is a straight step down transformer from 240 volts and is not current limited..

I need to know what size power inverter in watts and if they come with a car lighter plug

You won't do it. An inverter will keep a compressor running at maybe 200 or 300 watts but it won't start it up.

My Whirlpool Intergrated Freezer AFB 823/3 trip The Earth Leakage CB on the house Fuse board!!

This one requires more information. If the breaker trips randomly, then I say there is grounding problem between the plug and the freezer itself. I know the UK has a very large plug and it requires a serious connection into the wall. I would check and make sure you have a good ground on the box itself. You may have to removed the back and look at the connections If you have a V-OHM meter you can verify the ground through different parts of the freezer. If this never happen before and you just bought this freezer I would replace the breaker with a new one. The breaker maybe damaged and sensitive to heat from the current draw of the freezer. Also make sure it is the correct ampere required to run the freezer.

Start up current draw

Lock motor Amps ( LMA ) is the current draw when the compressor starts. This draw of current is less then 1sec.The amp amount shoud be on the compressor Name Plate. This amp draw is also the amps used when the compressor goes bad and locks up then the overload kicks out.

We need to know how much power the 3.6 cu-ft danby freezer uses as we have solar power. Would like to run off the batteries if possible

Hi, well its 120 volts a/c, 60hz, and you would have to look on the data plate to see what the total amperage it draws. If you are wanting to run it off of batteries, it can be done, You would need to figure out how many dc batteries it would take to do this and I have seen mobile homes have 240 volts a/c to there home running on batteries alone. You would need a rectifier to change dc to ac voltage. I would recommend making some calls on how to figure this out as far as what all you need to do this as I could not walk you through this, only if I were there. Call an electrical wholesale parts house and tell them what you want. They will be able to supply the dc rectifier to change dc to ac and they would be able to tell you where to go to get the right batteries and how to run them together to produce 120 volts ac voltage. Please keep me posted on your progress and if you need further help. Good Luck,

My chest freezer is warm what can be the problem?

there coud be many possiblity:
check wheather the compressor is getting current or not.
check the running amper of the compressor with a multi meter.
the reading must be 0.6 to 1.1 if it is coming above 1.1 to 4.2 than your starter have the problem. if it is showing 4.6 or above than its time to replace your compressor..................have a nice day :-)

12v &240v connections on an ENGEL COOLER

AUTOMATIC AC/DC CHANGEOVER: All Engel Fridge Freezers can be plugged into both AC and DC at the same time. The Engel is smart enough to use the AC while available and then automatically switch to DC when the AC is no longer working. It will also sense the resumption of AC power and automatically switch back to AC making it ideal for high hurricane areas and places where power disruption is common.
