The panel drive on that set is 1600 Hz and that is the frequency of the LED backlights. It cannot be changed. The gain from 60 Hz to 120 was dramatic and 120 to 240 was subtle. To go over 240 to 600 is pretty subtle too. If you are in Europe 50Hz is the standard transmission rate of the AC power. The information on the television has no reference to changing the refresh rate.

SOURCE: Refresh rate at 60 Hz?

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/pop_troubleshooting.jsp?ia_cd=02010100&model_name=LN52A630M1F

According to the Samsung website, the on-screen information is in relation to the incoming signal, not the TV settings which are being displayed.

As long as you have the 120 Hz turned on, the TV will display the picture at that refresh rate. However, the on-screen information will not reflect that.

Very ood.

How do i get my tv to 120 Hz from 60 Hz?

Good day,

The 60/120 hz rating refers to the refresh rate that the panel runs at. I do not believe there is any user control over this rate. The TV runs at 120hz or 60hz as manufactured.
The higher rate (120Hz) is more desireable.

Good luck...

Which tv doesn't exhibit motion blur?

You want high hz(hertz refresh rate). The higher the hz refresh rate, the better motion quality. 120 hz is typical for cheaper tv's, anything above that is good, the higher the better.

Tell me what is samsung syncmaster 794 default setting

The maximum resolution supported is 1280 x 1024 pixels at 65 Hz refresh rate, while the recommended resolution stands at 1024 x 768 pixels at 85 Hz. However, the maximum usable resolution is 1152 x 864 pixels at 75 Hz. Maximum usable resolution signifies the maximum resolution supported by a monitor at a refresh rate of 75 Hz or better. Though 85 Hz is an ideal refresh rate, 75 Hz is the lower limit. Any refresh rate, lower than 75 Hz, will give a flickered output and can cause some serious eye damage after prolonged usage...i hope this helps.

Unable to get 1024 x 768 resolution on philips 105e

Hello, that resolution should be available but only at a refresh rate of 60hz as per the specs pasted below. Can you see this resolution setting on your graphics card? If not then perhaps you need to check you have the latest driver for your graphics card and just make sure that your graphics card does support that setting anyway.

Trouble setting up VGA cable to watch movies from my computer on my TV?

First, make sure the VGA cable is plugged into the AV6 slot on the back of the TV.

You will have to go into your computer, and click Start --> Control Panel --> Appearances and Themes --> Display --> Settings and change the screen resolution to 800 x 600 first.

Then go into the program for your Graphics Card and change the screen resolution to 800 x 600 with a 60Hz Refresh Rate - sinc ethis will most likely be a change for you, your computer screen will seem to "flash" a bit - your eyes will adjust as you become used to this.

The other resolutions that work will be the following, but the 60 Hz refresh rate is the key:
Supported Display Resolution•Computer formats: 640 x 48060Hz, 800 x 600 60Hz, 1024 x768 60Hz, 1280 x 720 60Hz•

Format not selectable in AV-4

The AV-4 port on this TV is more problematic than anything I've seen. Set the resolution of the computer to 1024 x 768, 60 Hz refresh rate. If still nothing, set to 800 x 600, 60 hz refresh rate. Make sure the driver for the cable you have running from computer to TV is up to date. There's not much you can do on the TV end - all the changes have to be made from the PC.
