Has it always been this way or disk it just start. Have you tried re-installing the burning software? You might also want to run "chkdsk /f" from a command line to see if files are in working order on hard drive. eg: start, run, type cmd, then type chkdsk /f the reboot the machine. Don't interupt the process until it finishes.

SOURCE: super multi dvd writer gsa-h55n

Well, since I received a solution from MAXTRIXKHAN, I just wanted to check back with NCIX.com, and here is a recap of what I did, and what they told me...

After a few tries, I had to contact LG Customer service.
I tried to burn to...

-Maxell CD-R, no problems,
-TDK DVD-RW, no problems,
-Verbatim DVD+R, Computer hangs.

Well, I bought this DVD-Writer to replace my old GSA-4167B, and LG customer service told me that this DVD-Writer does not support the Verbatim DVDs.

So, if you have plenty of Verbatim DVDs, you should forget about this writer.

Supported DVDs...
Maxell, Sony, TDK

Will have to send it back to NCIX

So beware

SOURCE: I have a problem with my LG Super Multi DVD

Hi,

The issue seems not related to the LG Burners, possible the disc in which you are trying to burn may be issue.

Can you try with the different brand disk.

I want to replace the dvd drive for acer aspire 5100-3357 with another internal dvd drive but I do't know the type or the model #, all I know is that is a super multi double layer and supports DVD +-...

A better not complicated solution is an external drive.
Like the:
LG GP08LU10 Optical MediaSlim External Super-Multi DVD Drive You might not know it from looking at this DVD drive's sleek, slim exterior, but it's loaded with capabilities. LG's external CD- and DVD-burner looks great, and works in four unique formats. Super-multi read-and-write lets you select your style for maximum performance, while the USB connection means there's no need for an AC adapter.

No DVD sound with my LG GP08 Super Multi Drive

Hello, Phil,
I have the same problem on an Asus EEE Pc... Is your Toshiba running Windows 7? This is maybe the reason, because external drive is not compatible with this OS. That's what I heard from LG...
The drive works perfect on my Asus laptop with XP!
Please keep me informed if you solve this problem.
Regards,
Andre
