How to delete icons from desktop - Computers & Internet

If you are using Windows, go to explorer and find the program you want the icon for. Right click and the pulldown menu will show sent to. Click on send to desktop shortcut.
If you have icons on the desktop that you want to delete, just right click on them and delete or drag to the trash can.

Right click the icon. Hold the shift button while left clicking the delete option in the menu. Click ok on the permanent delete.

If you haven't deleted it off your computer, go to start, go to my programs and find where it shows Internet Explorer. right click on it and go the 'Send To', select Desktop (Create Shortcut). This will put the icon back on your desktop. If you deleted it, you will need to go to the Internet Explorer website and download it again.

You can right click the mouse on the desktop icon and delete it . Or click once on the icon and press shift and delete ( to permanently delete it from your PC )

You can delete icons on your desktop by clicking on them, and pressing "Delete." This will only delete the shortcut icons, not the program themselves. To uninstall programs, open your computer's "Control Panel" and click "Uninstall Programs."

If you have just deleted the icon from desktop and not uninstalled then we can put a shortcut back on desktop

Click on START button
click on MY Computer
OR
Open MY Computer icon from Desktop

Open Local Disk C:\
Open Program Files
Open HP Folder
Open Bin Folder
You will find a file by name HPDIREC
Right click on the file name and Click create shortcut on desktop ( this icon will not look exactly like the HP Director icon you deleted )

Close the window and you will find the HP Direct icon on desktop

If not, you can uninstall the software from Add/remove programs under control panel and install the latest software for your printer. Click on the download button below to open HP website to download the software by selecting your operating system

most times the icon u are trying to delete is in use .
what to do,
1. restart yr system in save mode by pressing the f8 key during booting and then chose the option save mode. or use help from ur system to find out how to start yr system in save mode.

2. tryu deleting the icon again n see what happens.

Select the Icon you do not want to use any longer. Then right-click on it and click delete. This will not delete the program associated with the Icon it will simply remove the Icon from your desktop.

First from your desktop go to the icon that says "setup blackberry internet email". Find your yahoo account and you'll be given two options, to edit, or delete. select delete. This will delete the account off your phone but you will still see an icon on your desktop. To delete that as well, go to your options icon from your desktop, advanced options, then service books. You will see you email account in this list twice, go to each one, leave it highlighted, hit your menu button and select delete
