Question about Garden
Took my 7 year old mower in for a fall special and they replaced the traction belt said it was cracked without calling me and added $250.00 to the bill. Did I get ripped off by the JD dealer? Sure feels like it.
Not realize. If it was cracked need replaced. I would tell them next call before replacing big cost items. I do think 250 is a bit much.

SOURCE: John Deer riding mower
Here is a link to John Deere website for this model, it states that it has a 16 amp charging system. It also has the phone numbers listed for contact, and requesting the manuals for this mower.

This link will send you to the illustrated parts list on the john deere site. It shows the belt routing in the part diagram. Hope this solves your headache.

Actually this is a fairly easy looking one to replace. If you go to John Deere parts and do a search for your tractor, in the parts listing it gives a pretty clear picture of the routing and configuration of the belt as it should go on, you might want to print it out to have nearby while you are working on it. You will need to remove the mowing deck to get at it and possibly some large blocks to elevate the tractor to give yourself room to work.
Look closely at the old belt if it is still on the tractor to get an idea what is involved BEFORE you start, comparing it with the picture. You will need to loosen and move or remove the belt guards and do be careful of the nylon fan on top of your transaxle
