Resolution settings are too high in monitor or computer video settings. Choose Recommended settings.

My Toshiba p105-s6064 display screen is only showing half of my desktop, the other half goes black or flickers various colors. Do I need to replace the display screen or the video card?


Try connecting to an external monitor if display screen is only showing half of my desktop, the other half goes black or flickershalf of my desktop, the other half goes black or flickers various colors then it is the video card if not....have ur display screen changed.

Bottom half of monitor displays top half of desktop


You could try a different resolution for the monitor.It's possible the monitor cant support the resolution your trying to display your desktop at.

Half of monitor screen shows on the projector.


You will need to set your computer to the correct display properties.
This you can do by either going to presentation mode.
Alternatively,
on Window XP you can simply go on to your desktop and right click > go to properties>go to setting> press display 2 and set the screen resolution as per your projectors resolution and enjoy.
( for information: display1 is the resolution meant for your computer).

Half monitor display and other half will be some different color.


Click -Start then Ctrl Panel - then Display - then Settings...
make sure you have 1280 x 800 (32 bit) .
or just hit the default tab .

Half of the monitor screen is showing and the other half is dark it need to recenter monitor screen

the problem you saying is hardware problem the 1st chep way to solve is
...take a display card and put it on motherbord and plug monitor on the new display card 

the 2nd way:
if u still have problem then you need to repare your monitor display ic's

Dell inspiron screen problem


-Yes you can reseat the lcd cable, follow some steps on your manuals ,If you dont have manula download the manuals from support.dell.com use your service tag. after reseating the lcd cable and still the screen is half ,try external monitor if the desktop is displaying properly may be you can consider that the lcd screen back light is damaged.try replacing the whole LCD or bring the whole system to a local store and repair the lcd back light.

if it is just half of the screen and the rest is black- you need a new screen. If it is half the screen all squished together (you can see the whole desktop) you need to reload the video driver
