Siemens Extraklasse XL1200 washing machine shock absorber replacement

Hi, can anyone please tell me how to remove the top mounts of the shock absorbers from extraklasse 1200XL washing machine? The lower part comes off by undoing a bolt but the top I cannot figure out and I'm hoping I don't have to dismantle the whole thing.

SOURCE: the pump on my SE25A266 dishwasher ExtraKlasse

Hi,

I removed the top and left side panel. Freed the float which was prevented form returning to the low position by the remains of a mouse that had unfortunately got trapped. The float is located forward lower left side. Trust that this is of assistance. Ian C

SOURCE: HI I have a extraklasse

the water inlet valve is stuck open, you will have to replace it, or if your a DIY unplug washer, turn water off, both valves,
pull washer out, theres plastic valve with wires running to it.
and a hose, [where the water hoses hook up to washer, ] remove the valve, remove the screws that hold the top barrel on to the val;ve, clean valve seat , check fo wear, theres a little round slug that has a seat on it, and is spring loaded, see that it moves freely into coil housing, put it back together,

Also have look at this post below, although NOT your exact model, they are all similar and this most likely apply as well.
http://www.selfhelpforums.com/archive/index.php/t-5111.html

  • Check and make sure that the washer is plugged in. I know that sounds stupid, but washers move and it has happened before.
  • Check and see if the washer works during the rinse cycle. if the motor moves then skip to step 3 If the motor does not turn then you need to test the power outlet. use a small hand held appliance like a hand mixer to make sure the outlet has power. If the outlet has no power you need to check your breakers. If the outlet has power you need to call a repairman for your washer.
  • Good news because your washer works on the rinse cycle your problem may not be that severe. First check to make sure your lid switch is working. The lid switch is a safety device that ensures that the lid is closed before the machine will begin the spin cycle. to check the lid switch simply close and open the lid several times. each time you close the lid you should here a distinctive click. if there is no click then you need to replace the lid switch. if the is a click continue to step 4
  • Ok you have power and you lid switch is working that means you have one of two things going on. 1. you have clog in the line or 2. your pump is burnt out. To check for a clog start at the back of the washer and remove the drain hose. Be ready for water! It may come pouring out. if water does come pouring out then you need to check the drain hose for a clog. If there is no clog in the drain hose then you have a bad pump and it will have to be replaced. If water does not come out when you remove the drain hose then you have a clog. the clog is either in the pump or in the upper hose that runs from the tank to pump.

Washer walking all over floor and oil is at base of shock absorber on the plastic mount

If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

Oil leaking.it is at the bottom of the shock absorber on the plastic mount. It bounces all over the place. is the oil coming from the shock absorber, if not where from?

You need to replace the dampers as it had failed and so leaked the oil.
check out the same type and replace. Make sure the alignment of the dampers and the mountings are not damaged or shifted

Remove plastic cover from the top of the shock assembly.
Remove 2 nuts attaching the shock assembly upper mount/spring seat to the shock tower.
Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a frame contact type hoist. (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PROCEDURE)
Remove the rear wheel and tire assembly from the vehicle.
Remove two fasteners holding the splash shield to the shock assembly upper mount.
Remove bolt attaching shock absorber to rear knuckle (Shock Absorber Attachment To Knuckle).
Remove the shock absorber from the rear knuckle first when removing the shock absorber from vehicle by pushing down on the rear suspension.

LG wd8013F bowl support plastic pin fell out. I turned machine upside-down, replaced plastic pin, now doesnt wash or spin.

    (A) Set-up
    1) The inner bowl is supported by (2) heavy springs at the top, plus (2) telescopic shock absorbers beneath the bowl.

    (B) Observed Problem
    1) Inner bowl was missaligned, causing out of balance knocking & banging, also drive belt was squealing from misalignment.

    (C) Remedy:
    1) Disconnect power from outlet.
    2) Remove (4) screws from back plate, remove back plate.
    3) Bowl is suspended on (2) heavy springs from top, and (2) telescopic shock absorbers below bowl.
    4) Inspection showed plastic pin retaining shock absorber end to frame had fallen out.
    5) Place old carpet or whatever on floor, invert washing machine.
    6) Re-align end of shock absorber into housing piece.
    7) Re-insert plastic pin (about 2 inches long x 1/2 inch diameter) securely into place.
    8) Re-assemble.

    Also:
    a) It could be one of the top springs as per (B)1 above may have broken or become loose.
    b) In this case the top cover plate is easily removed from machine by removing (2) screws at the rear top of cover.
This gives access to the (2) heavy springs, which are easily repaired.

    Note:
Sometimes the machine will not re-start again following out of balance problems.
    1) Turn power off again, re-boot like computer.
    2) There is also a re-boot procedure similar to Alt+Ctrl+Del on computer.
    3) Use three buttons simulateously, Start+spin+option buttons or similar.
    4) I fiddled with these until all lights lit up, then after a while the machine worked satsifactorily.

    Cheers

This is a dangerous job if you do not have the proper equipment for compressing the spring that is around the rear shock. I do not recomend performing this job without the proper equipment. Unloading the spring without it compressed can cuase injury.

If you have the proper equipment this is how you do it.
