I have a Whirlpool Duet Washer and I keep getting an error code "FL". Can someone please tell me what it means and how do I fix it?

F8 E1 or LO FL Code in display:

No water detected entering washer after 13 minutes, the pressure switch input has not been detected.
If the washer has an F8 E1 error or LO FL error, the door will be locked, and the control will be unresponsive. Press the power button, and the washer will start a drain routine which takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes, during which time the pump will run continuously. The control will not accept any input during this time. Please wait 10 minutes before trying to perform any functions.
Check the water supply:
Turn on the water. Check the household water supply to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Make sure to open both faucets completely for proper fill.
NOTE: Both Hot and Cold water must be supplied to the washer.

The tub keeps filling with water. I must run drain/spin constantly to keep the water from coming out.

Hi There,

Either the hot or cold (or both) water inlet valves has failed and is locked open. Keep running the drain/spin as you are doing and shut off the water supply from the machine. After you have shut off the water supply and the machine has fully drained, switch the power OFF as well. There will be service valves for shutting off the water supply at the ends of the hoses connected to the back of the washing machine. Hopefully, whoever installed it hasn't located the valves behind the machine or you will need to pull the machine out to turn the water supply off - I've seen this done far too many times and it's not clever. The machine will then need to be inspected and will probably need to have at least one solenoid replaced.

Please post back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

Cold water keeps on running

If it fills with water and starts the cycle and the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing.

I own a Troy-Bilt pressure washer, 2550 psi w/ a 6.75 hp motor. It will not keep pressure, I checked the water supply, hoses for kinks, tips for clogs and made sure the sun wasn't in my eyes. but it holds...

Mike, water supply is important. Make shure your running a 3/4" dia. supply hose to the pressure washer. The longer the supply hose is the less the water supply pressure is so keep as short as possible. Hopefully your hose hookup is running 3/4" pipe to it. It sounds like you've been diligent in checking everything. I hope this was helpful. Jeff

Frigidaire Affinity ATF6000Es1 washer- Keep getting an alarm and an E10 code and have to restart the washer each time the code comes up.

E10 code indicates there is no water supply. This can be confirmed by :
  1. Shut off the faucet to stop water supply to the washer.
  2. Disconnect and pulling the supply hose off the washer to confirm the E10Code
    • Opening the faucet and watch for running water

E10 also means that your cold water is coming in too slow, disconnect the cold water hose and check to see if the screen on your washing machine is clogged. If the screen is clean and the hose has good pressure then you will need to replace the water valve on your machine--- this is the piece that the hoses directly connect to.

Cold water constantly runs even when the knob is pushed in to turn washer off.

If it fills with water and starts the cycle and the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing. The cold side can fail independently of the hot side.

Water runs into drum when washer is off

You only have to change the inlet valve, can fit it yourself. The valve is at where the water comes in from the faucet at the wall. Surely you can do it yourself. While you are at it make sure to clean out the fine mesh at the hose and machine with a toothbrush. Good luck.
