Hi ! I have changed the resolution of the display to 800x600 (medium 16 bit) after this I have powered on and off the machine 4-5 times and I have not seen the blue screen till now. This means there is issue with display driver. But originally the display driver for Lenovo R60 machine was downloaded from Lenovo web site. Pls suggest as I can not continue to used low resolution display.

    darkstorm357 Mar 31, 2014

sorry about that...this are system crashes but we don't know from where, it may be from hardware or from recently installed software. to check this, you have to boot your computer unde safe mode, by hitting F8 upon the restart till you get a black page with repair options. just use arrows to choose from this options and hit enter to select. just choose safe mode and let it boot till windows page will come out. fyi..it is normal that not all your system function will work under safe mode. after windows has been fully loaded, click start and in search box type "problems & solution". on here we can view all crashes history on your computer and their detailed cause. by then, we know where we'll start. pleasse note the crashes that oftenly happens.

Today, around a couple of hours back, I had blue screen and then the machine restarted soon. I could only see "Stop: 00000050" zeros may be more or less. Could it be of some use to you to analyse ?

if you can give me a screen shot or image of the device manager window in safe mode, it will be great. or add me on skype "mhanzpanget" for a fast reply. last option we could to do is to take out 1 memory at a time. to see if it is faulty or not.

Hi ! My machine is ThinkPad R60 (9457-A75). From the site you have given link for, I have already downloaded the respective chipset driver and display driver and installed. But still when I change the display resolution from 32bit to 16bit, then I do not observed the blue screen after many many restarts but if I keep the resolution to 32 bit then I get blue screen very frequent. Could it be due to some hard disk problem ?

SOURCE: My Lenovo Thinkpad SL 400

Hi kingston_koa,

Getting different colors with vertical strips are common effects of broken LCD/screen. Broken LCDs needed to be replaced. With this one, the best thing that I can recommend you is to contact Lenovo specially if your machine is still under warranty. They offer free repair and parts replacement depending on your warranty coverage.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you for using Fixya.

A new charger costs $15/$40 , if you keep using the one sealed with tape you risk to damage the laptop.

Follow the good advice given by the customer support and get a new charger instead.

You can have the charger repaired for $60 or get a new one for $20:
