Question about Sony DCR-DVD602E DVD Camcorder

1 Answer

Camcorder not working without charger plugged in.

Hi, I have a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD602E and it was working perfectly for the last 3 years. Recently, i stopped using it for about 6 months, and it was only today ( 30.03.2014) that i charged it again. The problem is, it wont turn on if i unplug the charger (i.e. it only works with the charger plugged in) Please help.

Hi if you have the charger plugged in the camera the you have power to work it, if you unplug the charger and it dose not work, the I think the battery is not charged fully or it is no good after being left to long, check to see if the battery is charged. I hope this helps you, please let me know.

And also, if i plug in the charger, it charges for 2 minutes and the orange light goes out.

if you can, take it to the shop and ask the if the could test it for you to see if it is fully charging, 6 months is a long time to leave it without charging, also check the contacks on the camera and the battery its posible that they have got a bit coroded -green- if so give them a clean and try again. also if you know anyone that could try your battery in ther camera to see if it works would help.. good luck.

Unfortunately, it's not exactly a trivial process. The basic steps are as follows:

1) connect the camcorder to the computer
2) transfer the video from the dv tape to a file on the computer
3) optionally, edit the video file
4) upload the file from the computer to youtube.com

1) the camcorder has 4-pin 1394 (also called firewire or i-link) jack, and the computer (if equipped) either has 6-pin 1394 jack or 4-pin 1394 jack (on some notebooks). if your computer doesn't have a 1394 jack, you need to buy a 1394 adapter (eg. pricegrabber.com)

2) transfer the video from the dv tape to a file on the computer hard drive using editing software or a software utility designed for doing just that. this software may come with the camcorder or the 1394 adapter.

3) optionally, use editing software to take an excerpt from the file, rearrange parts of the video, add titles, etc., and output a new file

4) upload the file to youtube.com. there are some guides on their website as well (eg. youtube.com)

I hope that helps.

There is 2 possibilities, either aperture of camera jammed and doesn't open or CCD Imager got defective in your Sony DCR-DVD105 camcorder.
Let me know if you have little experience of camera repair to guide you further.

SOURCE: lcd screen is blurry on my sony handycam dcr-hc20

This does not sound like a CCD problem yet, but a LCD problem. This would require you to replace the LCD screen. Sounds like the LCD inverter is shot. That is the power supply that is required to back light your LCD.

Before we blame that, you should make sure that all ribbon cables are secure and tight.

Good luck !

SOURCE: LCD View screen problem Sony DCR-HC42

well if i'm not mistaking it could be the LCD board connection at the screen . but the replacement + labor will go from 120 to 170,

have you tried to open the screen, really slowly and see if it shows any life !.
you can try to get an stimate at sony, and see how mush it will cost you repair the machine.

there is not easy way to fix it, the screws are small and they can be lost really easy.sorry

My Sony Handycam DCR-HC30E mini DV is not working

In many cases I found DC Jack defective in this model and resulted does not charge battery through ac charger nor power up directly with ac charger.
I would suggest to check ac charger and battery on similar model Sony camcorder and I think your camcorder has DC jack problem thats why camera is not getting power from ac charger.

Sony HC-40E Charging Problem

Try loosening some of the screws on the handycam, to allow you to prise open the case slighly, allowing access to the strip coming from the switch. Cut a thin piece of rubber from an eraser, and gently stroke the wire strip with it. It works!

Hello, your Camcorder is in PAL (system for most European countries). In US the system is NTSC. But be calm. On multisystem sets you can follow the converted signal. On PC it is even easier. If you need more info please advice.
