How can I stop my dog from shaking when giving basic commands like 'lie. I am sure it is anxiety/attention

Give your commands in a soft tone of voice. Do not scold the dog when they do not react to your commands. Start with simple commands like sit and come. Reward the dog by giving him a treat or saying "Good boy" and petting him. Soon, the dog will obey all your commands.

I wouldn't personally. I tried to get my dog to wear a coat in the winter and he absolutely hated it. He felt like he couldn't move.

Are treats a must for dogs?

You don't really have to give your dogs treats as far as nutrition is concerned. They get all their nutritional needs from commercial food. However, treats can be nice once in a while and can strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Of course, dogs love them and just like humans, they should be able to eat delicious treats here in there.

Is it ok to give my dog human food treats once in a while?

It is; however it is crucial that you know what they can/cannot eat. Some human foods that you should avoid giving your dog are cheese, hot dogs, chocolate, crackers, and cookies. There are many others, you should educate yourself before giving something harmful to your dog. Foods that are a good treat include carrots, apples, lean meats, poultry and seafood.

You should never feed your dog raisins, grapes, garlic or onions - they can be poisonous to dogs.

Is there a benefit to giving my dog rawhide treats?

Yes. Instinctively all dogs chew - instead of it being your shoes why not give your dog a rawhide bone! The act of chewing will also help to strengthen your dogs jaw, keep their teeth clean and their breath a little fresher.

Should I give my dog pigs ears?

I have read a lot of forums about this and it seems as though they are not that popular among dog owners. A lot of them say that the pigs' ears make their dogs sick with loose stools and others say that their vets have told them that pigs' ears are crawling with bacteria. So I wouldn't advise you to give them. Check out this forum: http://www.dogforums.com/dog-food-forum/951-pigs-ears-bad.html

Can raw chicken give my dog worms?

It is widely believed that giving your dog raw meat of any kind will eventually give it worms; however dogs are meant to be wild and what would they do if they were in the wild? Exactly they would more than likely kill something and eat it. That being said I always give my dog chicken skin but I do boil it first.
