My toshiba bdx5400 wont connect to netflix

Says 82% connected to wifi why wont it connect says connection failed

Hi,

Usually on the toshiba it is Fn and F2 or F4 the f key will have a coloured picture of an antenna with waves coming off of it.

Also most toshiba laptops have a physical switch on the edge of the case below the keyboard. Make sure that switch is on first then try the Fn and function key combo as they work together like a two way light switch. Both must be on for the card to be active.

In connecting through a wifi, there are two factors to consider. (1) Wireless Router broadcast and (2) Wireless Receiver.

Make sure that your network router is broadcasting wireless internet or wifi. Also, you have to know if you need a pass key or password in order to connect to the wireless network.

Now, given that there is a wifi spot, your laptop should automatically recognize the wifi broadcast and negotiate connection without your intervention. This will only happen IF AND ONLY IF your laptop has a wifi radio receiver and that it is TURNED ON. When it is turned ON, it will connect you immediately if the network has no pass key set. If there is, then you have to enter that key when you try to manually connect it. (Right click on wireless network icon on system tray. Then it should say: Wireless Network Available. Then Click CONNECT)

To turn your wifi radio receiver ON, slide a switch button to ON position depending on your laptop model. If you dont have that kind of switch, look for the wifi icon printed in the keyboard keys. In some laptop, it is in F2. Now Press FN+F2 to turn wifi radio receiever ON and OFF.

if you encountered that Error message "Your device may not be connected to the Internet. (code: nw-1-1000)" means that you are not really connected to WIFI
** try to do network connection test and check the Wireless information to verify if you are Connected or not

Can your computer connect to the internet? If it can, it just means that you have a wired internet connection and not a wifi connection on the computer, which means your iPad is just connected to your home network via wifi. If your computer can't access the internet or you know you don't have internet service at home, then you either have cellular service (3G/4G) or your iPad is connected to some other available WiFi from someone else's service.

turn off everything including the internet router etc and power them all up and try again. maybe try netflix on your pc to see if its your internet connection speed

If your are sure you're connected your wifi,(from you're tv). then you have to make sure you have logged into your netflix account. If both of these are ok I would try logging into netflix on your computer.
Another think, does your tv have a netflix icon to click on?

Seems like the DNS on your router has failed to provide address info for your BR player. I would first try this:
  1. Unplug the Blu-Ray player
  2. Unplug your router for 20 seconds
  3. Plug your router back in and wait for the Wifi symbol or WLAN light to turn on
  4. Plug in and turn on the Blu-Ray player
If that fails, I would double check the WiFi settings on the Blu-Ray player, make sure that you have the SSID and passkey correct.
If that still fails, I suspect that your router's DHCP table has a problem with it. You may need to consult your router's manual for instructions on how to clear the DHCP table. The easiest way to do this is to perform a factory reset on the router. You will have to redo any configurations you may have applied to the router such as WiFi name (SSID) and pasword.

I have the exact same problem. My blu-ray player was working about half an hour ago and now suddenly it is telling me "Your BD Player does not seem to have a properly configured internet connection, which allows features such as BD-Live, Netflix and software update notifications. [Press the] red button to configure the network connection."I do so and it connects to my wifi connection but wont allow me to use CinemaNow, Netflix, or Pandora. My wifi is working perfectly normal on my laptop at the moment. I don't know what happened. One minute I'm streaming a movie on CinemaNow and now it wont cooperate with my wifi at all.I was wondering if maybe you solved your issue (considering you posted 5 months ago) and if you could possibly give me any advice??

I had the same problem with my Vizio XVT473SV. I couldn't find the Netflix Activation Code. When I clicked on the Netflix App, the TV would ask me if I wanted to connect to Netflix, then it would ask me if I was a Netflix member. After clicking yes to both, it would tell me it couldn't connect to the Netflix server, check with Netflix.com/tvhelp. After a couple hours of troubleshooting, the solution was......your first use of the Netflix App has to be via the Ethernet Port/Cable. This will give you a screen with the Activation Code, after you activate the code in your Netflix account, you can go back to using WiFi on your Vizio TV to connect to Netflix. Step by step instructions are...
1) Exit the Vizio Netflix App.
2) Physically connect an Ethernet cable to your broadband (just temporarily)
3) Check to make sure the Vizio is using the Ethernet port and not your WiFi (Apps Button - HDTV Settings - Network...may have to reboot the TV to get Ethernet port connection)
4) Start the Vizio Netflix App
5) Click OK to start the Netflix App
6) You should now see a different screen that gives you the Netflix Activation Code.
7) On your Computer, Login in to Netflix,
8) Click on "Your Account & Help" link on upper right corner
9) Scroll down to Watching Instantly on your TV or Computer section
10) Click on Activate a Netflix Ready Device
11) Enter the Activation Code shown on your Vizio TV and click Activate
12) Once your Netflix account (on your computer) shows it is active, your Vizio TV will automatically log in. You should see your Instant Queue.
13) Exit the Netflix App, unplug the Ethernet cable, Turn Off your Vizio TV.
14) After 20 seconds or so (remember the TV is software driven), turn the TV back on and your WiFi should connect again.
15) Use your Netflix App and this time it should automatically connect via WiFi
note: just make sure that your wireless DSL/Cable Modem or Wireless Router is not blocking your WiFi connection request from the Vizio. You can check the connection status in the modem/router or in the Vizio in the HDTV Settings - Network.
