Broke timing belt

If the timing belt broke, your car won't run. Fortunately, it's not too expensive to replace, and as long as you are at it, may as well replace the water pump. Usually they have to dismount that in order to get at the timing belt. Generally that is that case, but it all depends on how each car is set up.

The timing belt broke on my 1986 Toyota Camry 2L gasoline engine 2SE, manual transmission while cruising around 45mph on the 5th gear (around 145 kmiles). Is that an interference engine, should I expect...

It is possible you could have bent a valve when the timing belt broke off without a warning.
In this kind of engine, whenever the timing belt broke off, it takes a valve with it-possibly the number three valve. That is why it is a good practice to always replace these belts together with the water-pump at every 60,000-miles or a little after.
It takes about 4-6-hours to replace these two items. And on your car, it could be replaced by a determined and mechanically inclined person.

It's important to know the routing of the new belt when you replace it. There should be a routing diagram in the engine compartment near the top of the radiator. If you don't see one, you can use this diagram as a guide...

Yes your engine is a interference engine,
which mean valve to piston hit.

But replace the timing belt.
Possible you didn't bent a valve.
