I'd bet the nozzle above the main jet is partially plugged. That;s the long brass tube that sticks up at an angle through the venturi of the carb. It'll have a hole all the way through and possibly as many as six opposing holes up the length. It is removed with either a 5/16 or a 3/8 deep socket to expose the main jet underneath. Once removed, thoroughly clean all holes and clean the main jet also. That should make a big difference.

Sounds like it might be starved for either air or fuel. Have you made sure there is full gas flow from the tank to the carb? Also recheck the needle valve regulating gas flow into the carb. May be that a speck of trash is partially plugging that flow to carb. Should have in-line fuel filter (add on) in addition to the bowl 'filter

SOURCE: Ford 8N will not start when hot

This sounds like a bad fuel pump to me. The only way to be sure is to check the fuel pressure when cold, probably around 45 PSI. Then when it get hot it will drop way down to 10 or 15 PSI. Check the pressure if you can, or change the fuel pump.

SOURCE: ford 8n sometimes just stops-very hard to restat.

Could be a bad condensor or coil, flaking out when they get hot. If it starts ok after it cools down about an hour and is cold, then very likely the problem.
www.Ford8n.com would have everything you need for replacements.

Engine is either out of time, or plug wires are crossed to wrong plug.
Firing order should be 1, 2, 4, 3

Craftsman Leaf Blower will only rev up about 1/2 power at full throttle. Any suggestions?

If this is a two cycle engine there are adjustment screws that set the fuel mixture when the throttle is depressed.

Troubleshooting

Carb needs to be rebuilt, new needle and seat also float fuel level is critical.
after uninstalling carb remove fuel bowl turn carb upside down to verify float is parralell (level) with carb body if not adjust tab on float so it is clean all small orfaceses and jets.

adjust the needles both all the way in until they stops. unscrew both 1 1/2 turns and start engine. slowly accelerate and if it bogs down unscrew the HIGH SLOWLY until full speed is gain. some times you have to unscrew a little the low speed too. is a matter of playing with it. be patient you will get it. if you are still having problems you may have to take the bottom of carb. out and make sure the gas inlet needle is letting pass gas into the carb. chamber.

the high speed check valve is most likely stuck and not allowing fuel to flow properly. the bad thing is it cant really be fixed. i have had some luck removing everything and putting it in an ultra sonic cleaner for about 10 minutes. however the fix doesnt usually last long. may want to look in to a new carb.

Engine bogs down when speed is increased.

Ok I have r Royobi Tiller (30CC Gas) And last year it ran fine after rebuilding the Carb. This year it was "hard starts" Idles fine, (Tiny whisps of blue smoke in exhaust with correct ratio) Even seems to run better with the choke "on" but still...at idle only. as soon as I touch the throttle...its bogs down in tune with how much gas I give it. Little throttle? Little bog down, Little more throttle? Almost stalls, a normal throttle rev? it stalls dead! Then starts right back up again in 1 pull and idles fine again!? WTF? So after cleaning a clean carb again, (twice) and seeing no change I thought I'd go look at the original diaphragm and compare it with the rebuild kit diaphragm (which is the one in the carb.) And guess what? The replacement has a larger rivet by a factor of "2". So basically it was flooding the carb, I bent the needle tang down, better but no cigar. But I could rev it half way now. A second disassemble to bend it yet a bit further and Vrooom vroom vrooom ****! So check your needle valve even though you think its 100%. (Especially if you rebuilt the carb with a kit!)

Rebuilt carbs. flooding rear cylinder

well your deffinately flooding if it had no problems like this before the rebuild then i would say its the needle on the float not closing all the way try takinf the carb off and take the bowl off leaving the float on and hook up the feul line and push the float up if its leaking you have a bad needle. if its not leaking then your problem may be the spark to the cylinder

Shut off fuel to carburetor, drain carburetor. Open fuel and count to three then shut off fuel. Crank engine then pull choke for 1 second then push in. If engine starts open fuel valve at tank. Also try lowering float level in carburetor. Good luck.

8n tractor runs good at first then after awhile starts to sputte

Check fuel filter in the shut off bowl. Then check the needle and seat in the fuel sediment bowl on the bottom of the carb. Also check the float when you pull off the sediment bowl.
