87 sr5 with 22re. runs hot i summer and dont in winter so i replaced water pump, thermostat, flushed radiator, checked timing and cant figure it out. Thought about head or head gasket but it should cause it to run hot all year and not just summer. it does have a body lift so the rad. is 3 inches lower than stock but i've never seen anyone elses cause it. if you got any suggestions i'll listen thanks

Make sure the cooling system is not plugged up, poor coolant flow can make your engine run hot, and a plugged heater core will not allow heat in the cabin in the winter.
HI Anon.
Remove your radiator cap (WHEN ENGINE IS COLD), run the motor and let it warm up a minute or two, have someone rev the engine a little while looking into the radiator. If the water goes down and/or you see the water moving, your water pump is good. If not this means that your water pump is bad and is not moving enough water through the system. Try Removing your thermostat and run the engine without it. Keep checking the radiator hoses to see if they are the same temperature. If they are not the same temperature the water pump is bad. If they are the same temperature your thermostat is more than likely the culprit. Hope this helps.
they sell many flush products the best ive found is wynns products FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS on the bottle , make sure fan r fans r working properly maybe even check flow from water pum sometmes pump fins courod and dont pump like they should . if flush doesnt work pull radiator take to shop have them clean and rod the core .
Heres a couple of things you can check. Start your car and remove the radiator cap,(before it gets hot mind you) when it reaches norm operating temp, look inside radiator to see if water is circulating. If its not moving, its a bad water pump. Also, youre hoses should never collapse, if they collapse when they get hot maybe you need new hoses? Finally, if those dont work, flush out your radiator. Open the bottom cockpit and use a garden hose and let it flush out the system while the car is running, about 10 mins should do the trick. If the radiator looks clean inside then it doesnt need flushed.
could be that,And its easy and cheep to do ( my dad always told me growing up to always start with the easiest and cheapest things first.and work your way up from there.), but when thermostats go bad they either stick open or shut,if it sticks open, that can cause it to run hot because it don't slow the fluid down enough to get cooled down in the radiator before going back to the engine...if it gets stuck shut than that's when you blow a hose because the pressure builds up and cant go anywhere...if the thermostat dont fix it your radiator might be getting clogged, which will cause them to overheat also,so your system might need flushed to remove the gunk....but you are on the right track start with the thermostat and if it still gets hot, then flush your system...good luck. yz-maniac
are you using a 190 degree thermostat..do you have a faulty sending unit, also check the heater control valve, make sure you are putting the thermostat in correctly, dont mean to make you sound bad, some of these thermostats are funny
