When it comes on, the backlight comes on, but the "Sceptre" logo does not show up. There is one HDMI cable connected. You cannot bring up any menu using the remote. Can be turned on and off with remote, though.

Testimonial: "Does this mean that the main board I just installed is bad? Original one did not light backlight at all and could not be turned off using remote."

I have a Samsung LN32D403E4DXZA. The power isn't coming on. No lights, no sound, no picture. I removed the power supply board and had it tested. They found a fuse was bad and replaced it.

The main power supply regulator section circuit itself has the fault. It does not oscillates. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Have picture for 3 seconds screens back lights turn off. Then a black screen with sound. after I unplug for while and repower can I get the picture back for 2 seconds. no visible issues

Sounds like Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

After a thunder storm i have sound, no picture, the tv powers up, the back lights are on, should i suspect a bad lcd screen?

Something else is going on. The T-Con board has no other function than controlling the picture. If there is a separate board for the led drivers, I'd suspect that one. The main board controls the sound.

No picture but have sound.

Hi Celeste,
I appreciate your efforts so far.You have sound but no picture. Can you see the backlights? Or is there the on screen LG logo? If the logo is not there it means the backlights in your TV are not working. Mostly it is the inverter board which makes necessary power for the back lights goes bad. Good LUCK.

My Vizio 55XVT1A power on, has sound, but no picture. I changed new power board, main board, T-cond board, but it still same problem. What's wrong with it? Is it anything with inverter board? Than

If this is an LCD tv the backlight inverter is bad, a good way to check it is to shine a flashlight close to the screen and see if you can see a faint picture.
Let me know what you find

No picture power ups blacklights work no menu no

If you see the back light, then you should have 24vdc on the main power supply board which it gets the turn on command from the maun board. If you do have all those voltage, then it does sound like you need the new main board.
