Try booting to safe mode and check if it happens inside safe mode. If not, then do a system restore. If it happens anywhere even in safe mode, then do a start up repair. You would need the operating system reinstallation disc.

I have a asus eee pc 900hd it is stuck on a stsrtup screen and i cant get it to da anything

Hi Amanda.

When it is like that you usually need to reinstall the operative system (Windows or Linux). Try first turning off the netbook and removing the internal battery for one minute. I don't think that will work.

You can also try accessing the RAM modules in the internal slot and checking they are well in place. Do this with battery and power off. Do not touch the chip contacts. electrostatic discharge from your fingers can damage them.

If that does not work, then the system must be reinstalled. The unit does not have internal DVD player. The system is reinstalled using an external DVD player and an operative system install disk or using an USB disk where the OS install files have been previously copied. The system setup is commonly done at any local computer shop for a small fee.

Regards.

My pc won't start not even in safe mode

you might as well turn off your laptop and remove the batteries and cable into it. And then, press and hold the power button for 8 secs. This will reset your power and operating system settings on your laptop. Then , reinsert the cables and battery into it. Turn on the laptop, and if you still cannot start even in safe mode, consult your PC provider so that they will help you back up the files and repair your laptop....

Dell Dimension 5150 (& WinXP) - failure to boot up

you could try booting into safe mode, then you could try a system restore
look for the F8 option at the bottom after the first boot window,

youll know youve got it when you get the option to boot into safe mode, if this works you should get to your desktop, if you get the admin login its normally admin as user and leave the password blank.

if you cant get into safe mode, wait till you gt the recovery disks and try a system recovery before reinstalling

Cannot use internet and the comp goes into blue screen and dumping physical memory.then unable to shut down.comp tells of conflicting hard or soft ware but cannot get to remove it

Hello there:
If you cant get the computer to uninstall this in the safe mode or if you cant even get to the safe mode yo are going have to use your system restore disk if you have one and use it to repair the windows version that you have if you dont have the restore disk you can repair the current version using the disk that you have bu putting the disk in and restarting the computer
once it starts lt it start and press any key when it asked than after that enter the f-8 key and do not say repair let it go into the install of your operating syste than it will show you your windows versiion that you have and then it wil ask you if you want to repair this version of windows now say yes and follow the screen it will repair it and reinstall the corrupted file '(s) ok
best regards michael

Only strts up with the power cord connected, but takes me to a window that makes me pick safe mode, go to the prior set up, o normal estart up tried all but gets me back to that window

It sounds like your battery has died on you. If you start it up and when you can see anything pull the power cord out. if it just dies on you then that is your problem. A replacement battery is $70-$150 depending on where you get it from. It pays to shop around online and even around town.

The rest of your errors should just be caused by windows not shutting down properlly. When you get your battery fixed it should go back into safe mode once more and then reboot properlly into normal windows.
It is possible that windows has become corrupted but not shutting down which means it would need to be reinstalled.

Starts up till time to put in users name blacks out tryes to restart then repeats same thing

installed anything new? hardware? software?

sounds like a conflict problem, if new hardware installed, try removing it.
if new software installed, boot in safe mode (press F8 while booting, and choose safe mode). or maybe a corrupted registry file, you will need to repair it or reinstall system.

ok my friend as you said the operating system is not loading any more so that means we are having some corrupt files that makes the windows to fail while trying to boot up.

and since you cannot even log in to the computer even in safe mode that means you have only two options.

first is to try a repair (most of the computers use F12 key to get to the repair counsel).
second reinstalling windows.

so try the first one if it doesn't work then reinstalling windows will be the last thing to do.

if you need and further help please let me know

cheers
