Question about Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4) Router (1010835)
I get file from belkin I open router interface to firmware update. I get file from library and hit update it starts to update then tells me I have wrong version but I have checked and rechecked to make sure it was rite version. version 3100 is version 3 isn't it? KEV
The naming convention for version updates is 3.00 for ver 3 and 3.10 for ver 3.1
You are updating to 3.1 not 3.0

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You may possibly be able to restore your router to factory default settings, by pressing the reset button on the back of the router.
You normally need to press for at least 10 seconds to get back to factory defaults (check your manual).
Sorry, there is no guarantee this will work, but it is worth a try. If it does, you will lose all customised settings (eg password, network key). :(

Hi...the UK firmware for the F5D7230uk4 is on this page if this is correct for your model. There is also a guide to firmware upgrades here - the usual advice is to use a wired connection, backup current config if you can, make absolutely sure you have the right version etc...
Good luck with this

On my router I have to log into the router while it is connected to the internet and select update Firmware. From there it does everything on it's own. If it ask for user ID and Password you can try User ID: admin Password:administrator if you don't have that information. If that doesn't work the only other method would be to activate the reset to reset the router to factory and then update and reprogram your settings.

This is not a great router. It might work for various smaller tasks but if you want to do heavy duty downloads with it it's not going to cut the mustard. This is not an uncommon problem with home level routers. I would recommend going on newegg and reading reviews before you buy a new one. broadbandreports is also a good forum for reviews. Good luck.
