SOURCE: brand new furnace, transformer opens on primary

The short is on the 24V side...I would put a 3 amp fuse in series with the Hot 24v line before it gets to the circuit board from the transformer you will have to replace again....have a few spare fuses....after having done that./...turn the power on and call for heat...Observe what happens and what stage of the cycle you're in when the fuse blows...Exhaust fan starts...Ignitor starts to warn up....etc...I need more info...shorts are hard enough to find as it is.......does it blow the fuse immediately...usually it will go through a few stages before you get to the problem piece....Make and Model of the furnace could also be helpful to me

SOURCE: Goodman Furnace not working again????

You can try the 4 amp fuse thats on the inside of the unit, on the board, if you feel confident that there is 120v going to the unit. Having issues with the board can be a bad sign and not knowing what they have already done to it kinda leaves me in the dark, but you can try that and if the fuse blows again, you have other problems going on that they will have to trouble-shoot. The unit is still under the 5 year warranty so it might be best to try and get another board all together, you should only have to pay labor cost. It could be the transformer too, you can check it with a meter to see if your getting the 120v going in and 24v going out if capable. Hope this helps some and good luck!

the best way is to contact Goodman and ask them for the model, in base from the detail that you have. If you have some wiring diagram or instruc. manual you can identify it. if you do not have downloa give your model +mark+serial number and proceed: +

I have a pilot light but furnace will not kick on,we replace control module but still will not kick on

your positive you have the gas turned on going to this furnas?

also make sure the power going to the furnace is on, it should have a switch with a fuse located close to it and the switch may be off or the fuse is blown out.
if so does the control valve have 2 wires going out to the t-state? if so for a test jumper those wires either at the furnas or at the t-state and see if the furnace turns on, don't forget to remove the jumper as the furnace will not shut off if you don't, this is just to test the wires and or valve.

Why isn't my Rangemaster Hood blower turning when switched on?

Hi Ed
Being a range hood & subjected to cooking fats etc. It might be gummied up around the fan and just require cleaning!
But.... you said it was humming and there is a capacitor close by.
Then it's probably an induction motor thats not getting kick started by the Cap. While it's humming, use a finger (or stick) to push start in one direction or try other direction. If it spins up and stays going.... you've found the problem. The Cap is not kick starting in the right direction. Remove the Cap (with AC Disconnected) and check the values to get a similar replacement.

Good Luck

Is there an extension hose available for dyson dc 25

Hi there,

Unfortunately we do not currently manufacture an extension hose compatible with DC25. The Quick-draw Telescope Reach wand supplied with the cleaner stretches to 4.4m (16ft), to reach to the top of an average staircase.

However, you may wish to visit and click on 'Accessories' to view our full range of compatible dusting tools. Designed by the same engineers as the cleaners themselves, the tools are designed to remove dirt and pet hair from a wide range of floor surfaces, upholstery and the stairs.

I hope you find this information useful - if you have any further queries, please get in touch with us directly on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to provide the information and assistance you need.

Tv fell off the stand onto a carpet floor now wont turn on

Possible that the fall has damaged the mother board and so there can be CRACK ON THE MOTHER BOARD. So you need to remove power cord and check using a good inspection lamp on the board for broken circuit board. Use a good soldering iron with wire strips to join - take care not to short circuits as each line must be tested for short and continuity.

It takes atleast 3 tries before the 37 in led turns on

A pleasant and good day!

The problem could be the power supply.
That problem is usually happen when the output voltage of the power supply got a voltage drop or fluctuation.

This is the procedure on how to fix that problem:
  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
  2. Plug-in the power cord of your TV and power it ON to perform a voltage data or voltage check.
  3. Test the output voltage of the power supply.Use a multimeter (DC range) then check the 5vdc for the system and logic supply.
  4. If the 5vdc got a voltage drop when you power ON the TV.There's a leak or bulge on top capacitor on your power supply unit, replace it!

Weather King Acclaim II gas furnace will kick on but the blower won't work. It will try and run for about 5 minutes and then the furnace shuts down.

Hello, First thing is verify if you are getting voltage to the motor at the low speed motor terminal tat he control board and neutral. if you have voltage, next step is to check the capacitor, Discharge it and use a meter to verify the microfarad rating, if it is too low replace the capacitor. If that checks out good then the motors windings are either open or shorted to ground and must be replaced. If you don't have voltage at the control board then the board must be replaced.

My Transcend Elite Storejet 320GB fell 3 feet down the floor and also I didnt use safely remove when taking it off from the PC. Since then my HD always ask to format though I have done formatting it...

You dropped it on the floor and you removed it from a PC without using the (safely remove) option??? you might as well stab it with a knife and twist it while it's in there....

I'd say it's pretty much DEAD! but you could try deleting the partition (if you don't mind loosing all the data on it) with Windows disk manager in ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS in the control panel than try a format if there is a bit of life left in it this should work...

Hope it helped!

PSE+G stated the problem was diagnosed as a pressure swith on my Goodman heater....any suggestions to fix? Is this an expensive job?

How do you test a pressure switch and other limit controls? This is for people who are experienced with electrical equipment and the use of a Volt Ohm meter. *Please never by pass a pressure switch or limit control. The pressure switch and limit switches are there for your safety. If you have an open limit control either the furnace has over heated or the limit has gone bad. Problems that would make a limit open up would be dirty filters, dirty evaporator coil causing a restriction in the air flow or a slow blower motor (check the capacitor on the blower motor to make sure it is good). A weak blower motor capacitor will cause the blower to run slow and eventually fail. Pressure switches, and limit switches can be tested with a meter in the same manner. With the furnace calling for heat you can test each of the terminals on the pressure switch to ground to make sure the pressure switch is closed. You should be getting between 24 to 28 volts from each terminal to ground if the pressure switch is closed. If the pressure switch is open you either have a stopped up vent, drain line (if you have a condensing furnace) or bad pressure switch. Please keep in mind there are many different types. The front terminal is burnt and discolored. This is a clue that this pressure switch has a problem.
