The start switch should be a single pole momentary switch which engages a latching circuit. When you press the stop button it opens the latching circuit. The latching circuit is usually a relay, but it could be a centrifugal switch on the motor. I can't find a wiring diagram to be able to tell you for certain.

What's wrong with it?

Switches have more than one pole. Pole to the lights work ... as does the bulb.
Either the poles to the motor or the motor windings are bad. I'd leave that to a repair shop.

How do i check the stator on my a200 hobart mixer, or in other words ohm check the stator wiring

usually 2 wires that AC current goes through. check with volt meter set to ohms test for resistance . if you know the value .of resistance ? but if the machine has power but does not run . you know there is a thermal fuse hidden .once blown it does not reset..so you can throw it away. please don't..just replace the fuse or get a resettable one Radio shack or local electronic store . it is a size of a ADVIL pill with 2 wires inline of power coming in to switch ... >^.^<

I have a hobart mixer D340, 40 qts. and the start botton switch is not working. Can you teach me how to change it? If you have a video that I can see to solve this problem . Thanks, I be waiting for your...

This should be a fairly simple job, the only thing that may cause some people trouble would be if the switch has solder and not push on connections. This is an NO switch (normally open) Part # 00-087711-183-4 with two wires, one each to either connection.
1.Unplugged or turn the breaker off for the mixer, pull the cap off the start button.
2. Remove one of the lower screws from the electrical control panel plate and use it to get two screws 1 inch or longer that are the same size and thread.
2. Remove the other bottom screw from the control plate and screw the 2 longer screws into the bottom holes no more than one quarter of an inch. The screws will give you room to work and support the control panel plate while you are replacing the switch. Remove the 2 top screws that hold the electrical control plate to the machine.
2.Remove the 2 screws from the front of the control plate that secure the start button in place.
3. Install the new switch, make the electrical connections, replace the 4 screws in the control plate, and push the cap back on the start button, Plug in the machine or turn the breaker back on and you're done.
PS: you should avoid touching the other components on the electrical control panel.

I have a hobart mixer 80 quart .The motor makes a noise and would not start. It only starts if I turn the shaft and turn the on switch at the same time

Most motors of that type have a capacitor that puts the stator out of phase with the rotor. They are capacitor start induction run motors. These also have a centrifugal switch inside near the end ot the shaft to put power to the start winding for a split second to determine the direction of turn and to increase horsepower until it is up to speed. So if it fails to start either the centrifugal switch needs cleaning (or replacement if damaged) or the capacitor needs replacing to give it its original power, or the start winding has failed from overheating. There may be a thermal cutout on the start winding that may need to be replaced if it did overheat. If the start winding burned then the motor would require rewinding or replacement.

Have a A200 Mixer, when turned on, you have to spin it by hand then it runs fine. Whats wrong

The answer is clearly in the starting circuit which doesn't have too many parts, but depends on the type of starting circuit your mixer uses (electronic or mechanical start switch). I'm assuming your mixer isn't very old, as the old units used brushed motors which did not have starting circuits.

The parts of the starting circuit are the motor start winding, the start capacitor and the start switch (probably electronic in your case which is a small silver box with four wire terminals on it). The capacitor should be tested with a multimeter after verifying it's not holding a charge (check with multimeter set to DC Volts, mixer unplugged, should read zero volts).
Start winding should be tested with the meter to measure ohms. Locate the wires leading to the motor (hopefully only three wires) and you should get a reading for all three combinations of measurements (wire 1-to-wire 2, 2-to-3, 1-to-3) if meter indicates open on any of these, motor stator is bad(this is pretty rare and quite expensive).
Electronic start switches are not very simple to test, but if the capacitor and motor test out OK with the meter, and all the wiring is intact (look closely for loose wires, burned wires, poorly crimped terminals, etc.) then it must be the start switch.

Hobart H600 Double Pole Breaker

You need to get a new electrician; a real electrician would read the power requirements on the motor name plate and install the correct voltage and amperage circuit.

A single pole breaker does not supply the same voltage as a double pole breaker. It hums because the voltage is wrong

You may have a wire not fully seated in your plug, or the worm gear you've just replaced is bound by something ( a gear tooth?) or wrong worm gear. Check to see if all the gears are seated properly. You should be able to turn the agitator by hand. If not, something is jammed in the gears. The other possibility is the windings in the armature are bad.

Hobart H600 wont shut off

Sounds to me like the start switch contacts are welded shut.If you have a multimeter set it to ohms, remove 1 wire from the switch, put your meter leads across the switch and if you get a reading that switch is bad.If you dont get a reading i would check the side switch on the contactor.Im a hobartt tech and repair these mixers alot.Let me know.
