You need to check sound and audio devices in control panel.
Check volume is not on mute.

No sound but volume working

Hello,

If your computer's volume control seems working but you don't hear any sound from your computer, then you have two possible problems.

1. Driver of the sound (software).
2. Hardware (the sound card or speaker)

before doing any troubleshooting, you need to make sure that all media or sound player are not working because there are times when a certain is not producing any sound. You can try playing a DVD, watching youtube or whichever program where you can try your sound. If all aren't working, then go ahead and do the following.

For the software or driver:

Check the device manager for problematic drivers. If you don't know how to find it, then right click on "computer" and you can find it in the drop down menu or you can go to search and just type in device manager. If you see a device with an X or a question mark on it, then it's the driver that's causing the problem. You have two options when you see that: you can either uinstall and reinstall the driver or update the driver to the latest version.

By the way, there is a software that I am currently using which makes my computer to work to an optimum level because the program automatically updates and maintain my computer's drivers. The program is called RadarSync. If I were you, you download it in your computer.

2. Hardware

If it's the sound card or the speaker that's causing the problem, then you need to contact a technician for it.

If you have further questions, please let me know.

I hope this helps.

I AM HAVING ALTEC LANCING AVS300. I HAVE LOADED WINDOWS-7. THE SYS IS SHOWING SOUND DRIVERS ARE NOT INSTALLED.PL HELP AND LET ME DOWN LOAD DRIVERS, TELL ME THE TOTAL SITE ADDRESS.

hello waiyasin, this altec lancing don't need a driver, it just plug and play hardware. if there is a problem with the driver, try to install sound driver from your motherboard driver. if u use external sound card, try to install sound driver from the sound card driver. if u have problem how to install the driver then u just need open the device manager. u can find it on control panel. once u open the device manager window, insert motherboard driver (or sound card driver if u use external driver) into CD Rom. in device manager window u will find sound or audio device, right click it and choose update driver then follow the instruction. that's it.
hope this useful, regards.
NB: if u don't have motherboard (or sound card driver) try to goggling it or reply this solution with your motherboard name (or sound card name), maybe i can help to find your driver.

I cant here any audio sound on my computer

There are a few simple things to check first:
• Make sure your computer has a sound card.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ getopencontent.aspx?assetid=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers category. If a sound card is listed, you have one installed. If no sound card is listed, You will need to install one. See Install or remove a sound card.
NoteIf you think you have a sound card installed but you don’t see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there. 3. If there is a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card, there might be a problem. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.
4. Click the General tab, and then look in the Device status box to identify problems with the sound card.
