My DW788 scroll saw will not turn on, at first it would go off, then in a little bit it would turn on. Replaced fuse and brushes and still won't come on.

The on/off switch get saw dust in it and will not make contact so it will not turn on. I suggest that you remove the switch and clean it with an air hose if you have one. If not you can check the switch with meter and see if that is the fault. If non of these suggestions work for you or if you want more help let me suggest that you log onto
www.scrollsawvilage.com
And ask this same question there. It is a free site for scrollers and has many helpful and knowledgable people there that would live to help you. Also they have many tutorials and free patterns.

Do you see smoke on the motor? Or it just gets hot? How old is your motor? I had same problem with my bandsaw before. The motor was too hot every after use. I opened the motor , cleaned it up. It helped but after a week, it happened again. So I decided to buy new motor.

How to install;drive belt on model 34-670 saw ?

You must lower the motor down as far as possible and then tilt the saw blade so the back end of the motor where the belt is housed is exposed and accessible as possible. Then remove the cover housing at the back end of the motor. This will expose the belt. Thenyou can remove the old belt and install the new one.

Change blade

all chain saws have a sprocket that the chain runs on this sprocket is what make the chain rotate on the bar. the bar is the long part that sticks out in front of the motor. you must remove the side cover of the saw to access the sprocket region of the saw. be sure the saw is unplugged and then remove side cover the bar is usually held in place by a couple of bolts. on gas saws these two bolts also hold the side cover in place and must be removed to replace the bar and chain. once you have removed the side cover look for bolts holding the bar in place. if you only want to change the chain then you may be able to only loosen the bolts or screws holding the bar in place.there should be a screw to adjust the bar forwards and backwards. this screw put tension on the chain so when you put a new chain on turning the screw will proberly tension the chain /do not overtighten the chain.
also be sure you put the new chain and blade on the same as the old one that comes off trying to cut with a chain that is on backward does not work. last note if you are replacing the blade because the old one is dull take the saw to a saw shop they can sharpen the exsisting chain and save you money.

Changing control switch

Sorry, but that is not going to work ,that motor is not compatible with that type switch. you would need a variable speed motor.Newer models have many more improvements, you should try one of them, much smoother cut. Good luck and please don't forget to rate this answer.Thanks.

Ryobi Scroll Saw runs at maximum speed

Unfortunatly the speed controls cannot be repaired, they can only be replaced. You will have to find a Ryobi dealer in your area and get a new speed controler.

Bosch 4000 table saw won't work

OK sounds like you are handy. You have electric to the brush tubes? (first unplug saw to test) If yes then I would remove the brushes to see if they were making contact with the commutator. Does the blade spin freely? If not you might have a bearing problem. I would again use air after removing the brushes and then reinsert making sure they seat on the armature. If still nothing then if you are comfortable I would pull the motor housing. But before pulling go to Bosch Tools website and downloading a breakdown of your saw. Let me know if I can help

You need to look on your motor casing and see what the rating is in terms of voltage, expressed as V., RPM, or revolutions per minute, and horsepower. If you have a 110-115 V one-third or one-half horsepower motor, which is what most Craftsman motors are, it should be easy to find a replacement and take the old one off and replace it with a new one. I will check back and see if this helps.
