John Deere G110 electrical problem

I have two black wires jointed together with a female electric connector. the two are joined to three other black wires, one which appears to be grounded with the ground cable from the battery. All said, I can not see where or what to plug the electric fitting into.

Does your mower still work? It is possible this is a connector for an external trickle charger which may be connected while the mower is in longer term storage.

Testimonial: "the hour meter does not come on but everything else works.I keep coming back to the thought that these black wires are a series of wires meant to ground things (?). everything on the dash (even the hour meter) has wires connected to them so that is a dead end"

I come back to my original assertion. It is possible that it is a plug for an external trickle charger for when the mower is in storage or otherwise not in use.

SOURCE: John deere x320 will not syart. if one coil ground

The wiring harness under the engine shroud that feeds both coils has a diode on each of the wires that connects coils. The diodes keep each coil from grounding each other out so when one diode goes bad it will only run on the cylinder with the strongest coil.Order new harness from Deere, cost less than $30.

SOURCE: john deere gt 235 electric blade engagment but

One of two possible causes;either the PTO switch is defective or the switch for the reverse peddle is out of adjustment .The only other thing i have seen cause the PTO to shut down is a lack of battery power due to the machine not charging.

Why does my cat act like its missing when i only turn on my heater/lights anything elec. when these things are off it runs great

The circuit that powers the fuel pump, ignition etc may have a bad connection in the wiring harness where the plugs come together. When extra electrical loads are being fed current through the plug connection there is voltage loss at the plug joint. Thy unplugging the multipoint connector where the wiring harnesses join together around the fusible links etc. You will be able to recognize the culprit by its discoloration due to overheating in the plug. Replacing connector pins and plug clips should take care of it.

We have a John Deere riding mower and this happens every once and a while. It turns out to be a problem in the wiring connection next to the battery, I have to wiggle the 2 plug in connectors, 1 male 1 female and then ot starts. The larger wire that powers the machine to the key picks up battery acid corrosion every year. A design flaw. wrap with electrical tape but not so tight you will damage the wires, clean both ends with electrical cleaner then you may or may not use a light corrosion spray before reconnection...and wrapping...

I'm building and attaching a John Deere electric spreader to a x540 tractor. The problem is the wiring. The instruction manual says to connect the wire (which I just attached to the battery terminals) to...

I just purchased the electric spreader model LP3301 for my X500 & ran into the same problem. Here is what I did.
In my ignition wiring harness there are 3 yellow wires, two red, & one purple wire. I took a volt meter & tested the wires with the ignition on & off. The three yellow wires were the hot ones. There are 2 together & 1 alone. I spliced into one of the 2 that are together. The one that is alone is for the lights & is only hot when the lights are on. Electric spreader works only when the ignition is in the on position as it should.
Hope this helps.
