My Compac Presario F700 will not come up, I just get a blank screen even in safe mode. When I press F10 it runs through programs and stops at crcdisk.sys? How do I reset system?

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option

When you are on the blank screen try to press CTRL+ALT+DEL on your keyboard at the same time. it should bring up the task manager window. now, click on FILE > New Task Run > Type in EXPLORER.EXE and press Ok. it should show you your Taskbar, desktop wallpaper, desktop icons

if you can boot into safe mode using F8 goto add/remove programs and remove the newly installed Microsoft updates. if you cannot boot into safe mode, run windows repair

Sounds like its the fan . The more demand you place on the system makes it run hotter so the fan speed automatically increases to compensate

When the comouter is booting try pressing F8 or F10 i cant really remember. What i do is before the windows logo screen i start pressing all the F-keys until i get the menu i want

That screen is normal but only shows on certain occasions. Just use your arrow keys to highlight "Start Windows Normally" and press enter and you will continue to the blue sign in screen. If the removal software asks you start Windows in "Safe Mode", then restart the computer and select "Safe Mode with Networking".
