I HAVE 3 HAMPTON BAY FAN. ALL 3 HAVE MAL FUNCTION ON THE MOVEMENTS CONTROLLED BY REMOTE. NEED HELP & ASSISTANCE. CAN TTHE RECEIVER [ IN THE FAN ] & THE REMOTE BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. THKS.
This symptom is in control panel board circuit where the remote is triggered .The common causes circuit problem is cold solder or loose connection that why the motor of fan funtion abnormally and it cause the motor to overheat and shutdown automatically.Cold solder issues - each component is soldered into small holes on the printed circuit board which in turn connects said component to the other components. Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be cracked or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally connected (hanging by a thread). When the unit turns on heat would be generated which would be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no longer provides electrical contact. Jarring the unit creates movement inside enough to re establish the contact, sometime good enough sometimes not enough. Again, since the unit still operates (sometimes) then it is highly probable that there are no defective components. You just resolder all component joint parts in the circuit board and better you clean also the machine and lubricate moving joint parts. So it works normally again.
Hope it may helps...
