Question about Maytag Washing Machines
I don't see model no
This might sound like an irresponsible or stupid answer. But do try this...shake the machine when off and empty to 'wake up' the sensor. Then turn it on and try.

sounds as if you have abad contact in the timer
advance the timer to a different spin cycle and see if it spins
then bo back to where it stops
if it will spin in the other spin cycles but not where it stops the the timer will need to be changed

Take the top off, three screws in the back, top front left is the dispencer assembly, you will see some crusties(thats what I call them) on the top next to the moving parts, brush them off and wet that area down and blow to remove other, The moving piece should move freely now, going back to the roman numeral one. the spring is what pulls it back to one but the crusties keep it from moving.
